    Hello, All...

I remember awhile ago somebody said they were still successfully using Please, but I can't get it to put its output in the correct outbound directory. It finds my Binkley.Cfg file okay, but puts all of the ?LO files in the root directory of the current drive, rather than in the directory specified by the HOLD line of Binkley.Cfg.

I used Please for years, and I'm not sure what I did to break it. Anybody have a suggestion?

    Regards,

    Jerry Schwartz

Be careful with any drives or paths in your config that rely on DOS environment
variables. It sounds like something isn't 'set' properly. :)

I cannot explain why, but your comment jogged my brain in just the right direction. When I switched to BTXE, I cleaned up my configuration file and replaced "Hold" with "Outbound." That's what Please.Com was upset about.

    All fixed, now.

Log onto the site below. Go to the BBS Systems & Helps area and download version 2.01. No application questions asked and you still have enough time

    Hi Paul,
Please is a great companion program to Binkley. It has many uses and can be used in your events. A couple of it's functions I've used a lot are to poll someone for mail: PLEASE POLL net#/node# NOW or to request a file from a system: PLEASE GET filename.ext FROM net#/node# NOW. The NOW being optional. Please will do a bit more too, but I used a couple of the more simple options as an example. You can download Please from the BBS Systems & Helps area from the address below if you'd like.

That would be handy. I use a copy/rename of a pair of 0-byte
files tied to an event right now for a forced poll.

Works but changing to a diff addy means working out the hex
    for the name.
