    Hello everybody!
    was wondering whats best to use for messagebase maintence ??
    hptutil is extremely outdated it seems


    hptutil/lnx 1.9.0-cur 2011-03-09

    so, what would you suggest?

    Yep, that's a problem for nntp servers. In the BBS/FTN world the messages are always renumbered in all the tossers I have ever used.

    BBBS is an exception to that.

    What do you use to maintain your bases that are used with smapinntpd?

    Is hptutil a workable tool for you?

    In linux I don't. :)

    Hptutil can pack and purge squish bases without renumbering, but I think it is a bit unstable.
