Attempting to install Synchronet on a fresh windows 10 64 bit system

The link provided to download the MSVCR100.DL is no longer available from Microsoft.

    I did install the visual c+ 2015 vcruntime.dll

When I ran setup I received the following message
The applicaion was unable to start correctly(0Xc000007b)

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like it's available to me. The link provided at wiki.synchro.net/install:win still works. I just downloaded vcredist_x64.exe.

    I did install the visual c+ 2015 vcruntime.dll

Is there more to that error message?

I also just installed synchronet on a fresh windows 10 64 bit system. I had the same problem as your having. I put the two files it wanted into windows/system32 and broke windows beyond repair. So I reformatted and began again. This time, after getting windows back on, I went to the wiki site and installed synchronet from there. I had no problems after that. Synchronet went right on and even helped me allow it through my firewall. I also had no errors. My website is up and running this time (wasn't working on windows 7 system). I hope this was helpful.

i think you have hardware or some other issues. it shouldn't break windows beyond repair. did you choose to overwrite files?

This doesnt' even make any sense. "Broke windows beyond repair" by
placing two files in ../system32? Also, what does it mean when you say
you installed synchronet from the wiki site? Doesn't make sense.

So, you did not get an error message about missing files?
What was the URL you used to get synchronet.

It's all kind of mysterioius, as the windows 10 I installed was from the create mkedia by Microsoft...and I did not try the install untill windows was updated.

No, it did not ask to overwrite, but I think it did. I now realize the two files were off the upgrade of windows and not from the actual win 10 pro. Rooky move I know. No big deal though it was a fresh install on a new drive. after a quick reformat and new install its running great.

I went to wiki.synchro.net. I clicked on install from the left column and then windows install. I then installed the two prerequisite files. Then I installed the offical release, though now I realize that it may have downloaded and installed from my computer. There was a lot going on and I didn't remember that part. The older I get the less I remember, and the less patience I have, making me make more mistakes.

It wont overwrite without you saying yes. and if the .dll is loaded, you won't be able to overwrite at all.

I know, it suprised me as well. I was waiting for the confirmation but nothing happened. I rebooted and it would not come back up. I have a windows repair thumb drive. It went through its routines but when it rebooted it was still broken. I did not spend too much time on it just because it was a new install and I was loosing nothing by formatting and reinstalling. I suppose I should have taken the time to figure out what was going on for future refrence.

Do you think you could try quoting some of the message that you are
replying to, to provide context/reference? Otherwise it's quite
    difficult to follow the conversation...

You asked me to quote some of the message I am responding to because it is hard to follow the conversation. Sure, I can do that. I didn't realize some of the conversation goes away because I was hitting CTRL A to respond. I just assumed the entire conversation was there I guess. From now On I will do that.

No, normally the entire conversation doesn't appear when reading messages (except perhaps if you're using a web-based threaded viewer where past posts are visible and you can scroll through them). Messages normally appear one at a time.

Yes, when you say it out loud 25 years is a long time, but when you get married, have kids, have two jobs, buy a house, go to college, then life moves along quickly. It really didn't seem that long at all.
However, it is nice to be back with the Internuts, i missed it here.
