What is it?

Windows XP ship with a non-compliant/incorrect font for console window usage. Particularly the high-ascii block chars (F1 and F3 if you are an ansi artist) are incorrect, using diagonal striping instead of checkering, for whatever reason.

For optimal display in dosbox, use 8x12 Terminal size.



Lets fix this. Lets make it so they atleast use checks like regular DOS.

Installation

  1. Unzip the archive to C:\REPCON (if you have unzipped the archive anywhere else, move the contents to C:\REPCON)
  2. Run STEP1.BAT, follow instructions.
  3. Reboot
  4. After reboot, follow instructions (auto-run repcon of step2)
  5. Reboot after finish
