• building permit for a factory

    High,

I just read an article about Elon Musk planning a factory close to Berlin. He's
expecting production to start in 2021. Does this work anywhere in the western world?
A zoning plan does exist, the land-use plan was created 20 years ago and a forest has been growing on that land since then. It's going to take almost half
a year to get the permit though every goverment office and then he's going to meet some tree-huggers - literally. If they do not only chain themselfs to the trees, but manage to find some nearly-extinct insect and file a lawsuit, it might take another two years just to get a permit for removing the trees.

I wonder if the Volkswagen Auto Group will ever acquire the rights to the Tesla division?

    the Tesla division?

What for? The Volkswagen Group sold 10.8 million cars in 2018 and made a profit
of 11.8 billion Euros. I don't know how many cars Tesla sold, but they lost almost one billion Euros by doing that. And I don't see why anyone would by a Tesla. Refueling my Mercedes takes less than fives minutes and then I can drive
top speed for more than two hours, with a Tesla it's the other way around.

And I'd love to see the Tesla Cyber Truck taking the NCAP crash test. If the front is as hard as the door, there's very little change of surviving a crash in it. Actually, I wonder if the demonstration was supposed to be a joke, anyways. It can pull a bigger truck, so what? All you need for that is more weight. It's bullet proof? Obviously not, if you can penetrate the windows by throwing a pice of metal with your bare hands. It's faster than a Porsche? ROTFL! The 911 GT2 RS comes with a standard top speed of 340 km/h and that's a limit set by software.

I understand, I was only wondering because I believe in the VW brand not only for the reliability but also for the fun-factor as they are a blast to drive. I have had a K2 Golf,Passat and currently own a 2013 Jetta.
