Joe Biden took some questions from Cardi B about some popular issues: Education & Health Care.

Cardi B asked him "Can you provide free college education and health care without us having to pay for in our paychecks?"

Biden responded by saying "Yes because I'll make sure that corporations pay their share." (He's gonna raise taxes for corporations which will send business back to Asia.)

Biden also expressed interest in getting more young people to vote. (Young people with impressionable minds who will buy his gimmicks.)

What a load of crap? Not just because I'm a conservative & Republican voter, but because we just watched Obama lie about healthcare for 8 years, only to leave office with an even worse health care system. Now we're gonna trust his amigo with more health care promises? And toss in a free college education joke while he's at it?

Cardi B, and all young people, should realize that a Democrat in the oval office is useless against a Republican majority senate, and these ridiculous handouts will never pass. But Joe will be able to sell more books and interviews, and speeches, and he'll be able to get Hunter that job he always wanted.

Not to mention it will raise prices for the products those corporations make. So while it's not coming directly from our paychecks, it still comes out

The "Free college education" is simply a way for the Dems to help out their co-conspirators who have cushy jobs in the colleges. Right now, colleges
are having a big problem in that people have figured out that, for many,
a college education isn't worth the years of crushing student loans.

So "free college education" means that the "professor" who teaches "gender studies" gets to keep her job and the tax payers have to pay for a snowflake
    to get a worthless degree.

... You can pick your friends, but not your relatives.

    Hello Aaron,

So "free college education" means that the "professor" who teaches
"gender RL> studies" gets to keep her job and the tax payers have to pay
for a snowflak RL> to get a worthless degree.

That sounds familiar! But instead of leaving it up to states, like Trump
has, Biden would rather mandate it for the entire USA and let the national debt pay the bill.

Both Louisiana and Georgia have free college tuition for students.
Why not all other states? These state programs have proven very
popular, and have been in place for decades. Bernie Sanders has
suggested all public colleges and universities should be free, as
taxypayers already pay for them. Should a president make it mandatory
for all colleges and universities to have free tuition? I think it
should remain a state issue, not federal. But that is my opinion.

Let's say you, or one of your kids, wants to go to college but
cannot afford to do so. Your state does not offer free college
tuition, but other states do. Moving to another state would solve
that problem, although one would still have to pay room and board -
which is what dormitories and cafeterias are for.

To get around the out of state tuition problem, all one would
have to do is become a resident of the state. Doing chores in
exchange for a place to stay should do it.

Which brings up an interesting question -

How long does it take to become a resident of a state?

Let's say you move to Louisiana (or Georgia). Then get a driver's
license with your new address as your residence. Does that make you
a resident of the state? Would that be enough to qualify for free
    college tuition?

Kids have been doing that for years, in order to avoid having to
pay exorbitant out of state college tuition costs. Staying in a dorm
is much cheaper than renting an apartment. And a meal ticket to eat
at the cafeteria is a lot cheaper than buying groceries.

Come to to think of it, maybe we could find new homes for the
homeless by oh never mind those university professors would not
    like that ...

Just go to any 5 star hotel in NYC. Deblasio is offering free rooms for anyone who can hold a homeless sign. Everything's free I guess. They do this in California too, but in Cali they also provide free drugs and alcohol, so NY's still got some catching up to do.

That sounds familiar! But instead of leaving it up to states, like Trump

Suppose you bought everything on credit.
Until you had no more credit to buy anthing more.
What happens is you keep paying your bill, but
creditor gives you more credit so you can buy more
stuff. Each time you get close to your limit
your creditor gives you more credit. That way you
can keep buying stuff for as long as you like.

Multiply that by the number of credit cards you have.
And then think about how much yearly income you are making.
What happens when you are paying out more than you are taking in?

That is what you call deficit spending.

Which is not a bad thing, when done properly.

Spend now, pay back later. Kind of like buying a car.
Or a house. Few people can just walk in and pay in full
for expensive stuff that takes most folks years or decades
to pay for. Without credit, this country would not be the
    same as what it is.

Free college tuition should be available for all. Nobody should
be forced to put themselves in debt for decades in order to be able
to become gainfully employed. Besides, what folks pay back in taxes
more than whatever cost is provided by the state for that education.

How much is a college education worth? Can someone earn
a living by flipping hamburgers at some fast food joint?
I don't think so. Making college tuition unaffordable is
not the answer. Best thing to do is have free tuition for
all. Private colleges and universities can charge all
they want, as wealthy parents can easily afford the cost
of sending their kids to school.

I mostly grew up in Florida and graduated from high school there. At
that time the state universities gave automatic admission to anyone who graduated from a Florida high school, plus had a tuition of $50 per
year. Of course, that tuition is much higher now, almost $6,400 for in
state and just over $28,000 for out of state. Although they had
guarenteed admission, they did not guarentee that you would not flunk

I'm with you on that, sorta, but if you ever want it to happen, I encourage you to stop calling it "free college tuition." The word "free" makes it
sounds reckless to conservatives. It doesn't have to be that way.

I think gimpy Andrew Cuomo sorta did it right in NY. There are rules that could make the student have to pay the tuition back if they fail too many courses, or if they fail to register for a full-time schedule.

Stuff like that should be included in a national version of "government subsidized college education."

Many states put the threshold at one year. Plus, living in the state
for the purposes of going to school does not count.

Each state has its own residency rules. And sometimes each conference
a school is in. Living in the state is also defined in different ways.

Tennessee has no rules concerning residency. Some states define
residency as being more than 183 days. Other states it is one year.
And at least one state at three years. Conferences also set residency
rules for tuition purposes. Also individual schools might have their
    own specific rules.

I mostly grew up in Florida and graduated from high school there. At
that time the state universities gave automatic admission to anyone who >graduated from a Florida high school, plus had a tuition of $50 per

Generally, move to a state, have a place to live, get a driver's
license, register to vote, get a library card, etc. After one year,
having a way to verify how long one has been there, should be enough.
Maybe. But that is for those who want to pay in-state tuition.

How long does it take to become a resident of a state is even more
chaotic. Some will tell you a resident of the state is one who has
received a driver's license from that state. How long does it take
for someone to get a driver's license in a state he/she has moved
to? Certainly a lot less than a year. More likely just a few days.

Get real. We repay the cost of tuition many times over through taxes.
It really is a good deal for states to provide free tuiion. Employers
get the benefit of having a qualified workforce, and the state gets
more revenue as more people are gainfully employed.

Stuff like that should be included in a national version of "government
    subsidized college education."

Bernie Sanders wants to go national. But states can do so now,
as some already are. Maybe Bernie should set his sights on running
for governor of Vermont, rather than president. Just think of the
many wonders he could do, educating all those Vermonters with his
    own special program.

a living by flipping hamburgers at some fast food joint?

I'm confident that some people DO earn a living flipping burgers.

let the burger flippers get some value out of their payroll tax.

It's not pc to comply with an officer's request. Aren't we supposed to throw
bottles at them or something? Burn their cars? Get bailed out by Joe Biden
    if we get caught?

An officer has to give reason as to why he pulled the motorist over.
If the officer is unable to do so, the motorist is under no obligation
to comply with the officer's request. Of course, not complying with
an officer's request might get the motorist shot and killed, but that's
    beside the point.

When or where have I ever written that folks who cannot afford a state idenfication card should have to pay for one?

No it's anti-liberal to say that people should need one in the first place. I want a free car, free insurance, and if some member of the blue wants to see a drivers license, I want to be able to set their car on fire as my way of protesting peacefully. Are you with me?

Cops should be able to be liberal with bullets too!

If they can blow most of their welfare check on booze and drugs...they should be able to afford the few dollars for an ID to show a poll worker they are who they claim they are in order to vote!

If they can go to a DMV to obtain and renew their drivers license they should be able to afford a voter's ID to vote!

If they can afford the costs of fuel and upkeep for those vehicles they drive around, they should be able to afford the few dollars for a voter ID!

With all the money they save by living in rent-subsidized housing, they should be able to afford a voter ID card!

They can get to and from the dice game...or the corner saloon...or their favorite drug den....they should also be able to get to the office that issues voter ID cards!

The buses run....taxis still operate....most all of them can get drivers licenses to show an ID to buy alcohol, or buy tobacco....the excuse `I can't afford one' goes out the window.

They need a valid ID to buy liquir, a pack of cigarettes... to obtain a
    drivers license (birth certificate)...cash a check....open a bank account...

But my point is that if we didn't make them show ID to enter the USA, then why should we expect them to show ID for anything else? If it's a NY drivers license, then it says nothing about who they really are anyway.
