Question: What is 'echo link' ?

EchoLink is a VOIP program for hams only. You can use it to connect
repeaters, or person to person, conferences, or links from echolink
to RF with a radio that setup with a pc to computer audio
interface. Some people frown on it saying it's not "true radio", but
I think if you like using it, it's all good.

NO, EchoLink or echo link is NOT amateur radio. It's only for people
that aren't capable of advancing their license status.

I tend to lean towards Kent's take on this platform. In the end, folks can decide for themselves what is/is not amateur radio in 2014.

That's not what I'm seeing on EL...there are Extra Class licensees on it
as well as some whose calls seem like beginners. Also, there are those
who're using an APP on there phones that give them 'portable' operation
and as we know, cell phones use our airwaves.

... Why are they called stairs inside, but steps outside?

    Answer to your Tag Line

Steps are simple constructions to climb up and down, usually for
entering something on a platform and less in number.

Stairs are usually used to connect different floors in a building
    and are more in number.

Your post in reply to his tagline question does nothing to explain 'why'
stairs and steps are called what they are. Perhaps a breath of fresh air,
taken just a few steps up the flight of stairs to the highest balcony over looking the huge valley of explanations will give you a clue.

The boy was told that he is mistaken and he was pointing to the powers
that be who reside in 'no mans' land, up yonder that what he said was
    reality.

You see, he was testing the way the wind was blowing which is an old
Italian trick (see Columbus) where one wets a finger and sets it in the
wind to determine which side of it cools the fastest, must be up-wind.
Which I felt was a fitting answer to one of your (that one) posts.

PS - 'one way Jesus' must be a misnomer for the old, nearly blind priest
who always drives the wrong way on the one-way streets downtown San
    Antonio.

Please provide an explanation of what was relevant to the question or
Amateur Radio. It was a comment that was way off topic here. Do so per the
HAM echo rule - Section 3, paragraph 2 ... which refers you to Section 9.

to learn it is in ENGLISH_TUTOR, where such text can be copied to and
