    Hello everytone,

I've just started playing with digital about a week ago. Mostly PSK31. I'm using HRD and DM78, question is...

Does anyone know what the settings are to work RTTY? When I tune RTTY signals all that displays is random characters. Also wondering if DM78 can decode jt65 or would I need to use a differant program to work that mode?

It requires a different process than PSK 31

Try the Freeware progran TrueTTY, It also decodes 10 more digital modes
    as a plus

FLDigi is a great free program that handles ALL the digital modes currently available. I use it with my homebrew interface hooked to my Yaesu FT900.

I agree on FLDigi being the best among the free ones. I don't know DM78.

At least I don't know of any other program that can decode JT65 than the original JT itself. Mind you, JT 65 or any of the JTxx programs are very special programs for digging out extremely weak signals from background
    noise.

The JT programs are mostly used to work EME (moon bounce) and MS
(meteor scatter) contacts and they convey no other information than the callsigns, signal report and locator.

    Have a nice day,

    Holger

    Hello All,

I have just starting using JT65. Pretty cool stuff. Anyone out here use this mode? Any tips, pointers? Best software to use? etc. etc.

You shouldn't need any other software. The JT stuff is a complete
software solution for decoding the modes used by the various versions of
JTxx intended for use on HF and VHF.

Read the manual, it is quite complete and also if you have access to QST
or other ham magazines there have been description of installation and
use. I know for sure that QST has quite recently (within the last couple
or three years) described some version of the K1JT software.

Also, please note that there are different versions for HF and VHF.
