Anyone have any ideas why this program will not work on this machine?
It it worked well on my "old" XP machine which still is a pretty slick system.
Was the old XP machine a single core system?
If yes you could try to force the process to run on the same
CPU Core. You can also try to disable HyperThreading (if it is an
Intel machine).

Was the old XP machine a single core system? It is a 3 core system.
There is no option in the setup to turn off HyperThreading.
Unfortunally it is not supported because the author is an SK.

What is an SK?
I need the XP drive to contiue to use FIDO and also to run a ham radio program called STSPLUS which I use to track satellites, especially the Shuttle.
Well STSPLUS will not run on the machine. It just blanks out the
screen and the only out is to reboot the machine.

Indeed ... never seen it abbreviated.
Also did not know that you use it like a noun (somebody is a silent key).
Only seen it in the Ham magazine and website.
In both cases only as "captions".
But I guess that is to be expected for a new, non-english native HAM.
