I've been using a Book that's 28mm x 21mm on My lap for some time since
You mentioned how You use Your Mouse.

I hadn't found my ROUNDTUIT to write a Thank You message to You about
having a book on my lap to Mouse around until today.

I've been hooked on BBSing since I got the C=64 in early 1984.
This BBS has FidoNet Echoes and also has Echoes from Mystic, Dove, GT Power and the iLink Networks.

Lots of interesting information.

Before 1984, I logged on a couple of 2 Meter Amateur Radio RTTY BBS's.
One was ran on an Apple ][ PC and the other on an Atari 400(or 800) PC.

I used an Netronics Ascii/Baudot Video Board and their Keyboard on 20M HF
and 2M VHF w/ a home brew 555 AFSK Keyer and a home brew RTTY Demodulator.

The first HF RTTY QSO I made on 20M was on W1AW's Bulletin Frequency.

After the Bulletin session ended I type CQ and had a short QSO with a HAM
using a KIM-1 Computer iirc.

I had thought there would be other Hams listening to those RTTY Bulletin,
and that would be a good time of day to try out My RTTY setup on HF.

O.K. Duh. Memory - My PC has it, I don't. .... ..

For instance: All my stationary machines stand on the floor and the top

This XP box is 15" tall but is on a stand with wheels which makes it
18" abt 45 cm above the floor.

Ye old 486 is 25" above the floor.

Both of those PC's are in a corner of the room, a desk is on one side and
at a right angle is another desk for my Printer/Scanner AIO.

Those PC's are kinda hid where I could't use a mouse as You do on them.

I take the book off of my lap and put the Keyboard on my lap when I type.

I guess that's the only exercise I get in this room - swapping the Book I
use the Mouse on, and getting the Keyboard when I want to type something.

The new machine is a tower that is lower than the IBM on edge but below

the height to 21.5" for the mouse mat.

I want to get at the UBS connectors on the machine without having to
creep on the floor or behind the machine.

Howdy! ALL!,

Here in the United States we observe Thanksgiving Day in November,
so I thought I would say "THANK YOU!" to the people who Run, Read and
Enter messages on BBS's.

In the 30+ Years I've used BBS's ran on Commodore, Apple ][,
PC Compatiable and Other computers, I have learned a lot from Reading,
Making Comments, Asking Questions and also seeing what Others write about
in BBS Echo Conferences about various topics they know about or want to
know (more) about.

Mostly about how to use my computer(s) to make my life easier.

THANKS for the many HINTS and SHORTCUTS about how to use my computer(s)
to make life easier here.

And THANKS! for all of the GOOD non-computer IDEAS I've found in other
Echo's that I read, such as: Amateur Radio, Bible, Doctor Who, Space, etc.

I enjoy being able to learn and share what I read in BBS Messages.

I have a A.C. Powered USB Hub connected to one of the USB ports on

I don't but that is an opportunity if I want.

I wanted a Powered Hub so that all of the USB thingy I plugged into
it would get all of the current they need to operate.

Well, I don't have such power hungry appliances except a 3.5" floppy
drive that doesn't write unless it's attached when the machine is on.

I have the Hub on top of the desktop pc and use a Velcro Pad between
it and the pc to keep the Hub from moving around.

Thanks for the tip. I may use it.
