I know that most of you might find this to be "old news..." but I'm posting it anyways.
Below script was copied directly from the 3D Realms forums.
Frickin' shame, in my own humble opinion.
The were (and still are) a damn good gaming company, and $hit like this shouldn't happen to good businesses and good people.

    What happened to 3D Realms?
On May 7th 2009 3D Realms, due to lack of funding, All of the development staff was - regrettably - laid off leaving only key personnel, such as
George and Scott, left at the company.

While 3D Realms does not have a development team at this time it still
exists as a company and still retains the rights to its intellectual properties (IP for short).

Why is the forum still open?
The website along with the forums have remained open for business thanks to George. It still exists today so fans of all 3D Realms/Apogee games can have
a place for civilized discussions. They are currently run and maintained by the community.

What happened to the lawsuit against 3D Realms over Duke Nukem Forever?
The lawsuit was dismissed on May 14th 2010 according to a Shacknews article. No further details on the lawsuit are currently available.

What is the status of Duke Nukem Forever?
Unknown. Do not ask. Seriously. No comments will be made on the status and
or future of DNF. If or when new information surfaces about the game, this
    FAQ will be updated.

Also, please refrain from posting a new thread on every single
gaming-related event, news article, comment or surprise exclusives from
gaming magazines, websites, etc., etc., within this forum to speculate if
DNF will finally reveal itself as a result of it unless there is real information that it actually pertains to DNF."

Can I post media (screenshots, videos, etc.) here?
Yes you may as long as if it fits the topic of discussion. You may not
however post unofficially released material of any kind.

If you have any questions on what is considered unofficial or leaked media please contact a member of the moderating staff before posting.

What about the other Duke Nukem games in production?
Duke Begins was in development at Gearbox for some time before being put on hold while the legal dispute with 3D Realms was being dealt with. At this
time the status of whether or not this game will continue production is uncertain.

The Duke Nukem Trilogy which includes, Duke Nukem: Critical Mass, Duke
Nukem: Chain Reaction, and Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds for the PSP and DS handheld systems is still in development by Frontline Studios with an unspecified release date.

These should be discussed in the appropriate forum located here.

Who maintains the forums and do they work for 3D Realms?
The forum is maintained by a small dedicated group of individuals from
around the globe who are in no way employed by 3D Realms and as such do not have any inside information on the company or its projects.
