• Fish Recommendation?

From Jane Smith@1:278/230 to All on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 21:35:00
Can anyone recommend a peaceful fish for a community tank (20 gallon - freshwater) that would like to live in a small, broken clay jar at the
bottom of the tank - preferably a fish that likes to stick its head
out of the hole in the pot (the hole's diameter is about 1.5 inches).
BTW, I'm really not interested in a loach ... something colorful would
be nice, but not necessary. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I had a Black Ghost that loved to do this from a 1" hole in a 6" tall castle. The larger ones are 3-4" long and more, though.

    Be well,

Our Spotted Dojo is the rock star of our tank. We just adore him.
Named Lu Tse. Sure, he's a loach. Or is he? Technically, I think
he's supposed to be a goldfish. Misgurnus aguillicauda.

He'd love something like a clay jar. He'd keep it absoulutely clean.
He'd hide under it until you thought he was dead, and then for no
apparent reason, go totally nuts and swim around with extreme speed.

Goldfish are coldwater fish and shouldn't go with freshwater/tropicals

I realize that, but he does fine, and seems happy enough in our 78 degree tank. ---

I see, in that case 1 in that sized tank ain't gonna make a tremendous difference.
