• Figure eight puffer

I would like to survey salinities used to keep figure eights from
those who were successful in keeping them at least over a year. I know
they can be kept in either freshwater and brackishwater but would like
to determine the optimum salinity range in home aquarium settings. I
have had them without success in the past and acquired a new one
recently. It is currently in 10 gal at a salinity of about 1
tablespoon per gallon. I know it takes more than right salinity to
keep them healthy but this has been my burning question for some time.
Please share your experiences to help me maintain this intriguing pet
    fish.

I kept one alive for more than a year in full fresh water, and another
alive for more than a year in full streingth ASW, both different
    puffers, and at different times.

I would look at a different reason that they are not living for you?
maybee the food you are feeding them.
