I remember writing a tic tac toe game, many, many moons ago...
well now that I have discovered socketwrentch, the concept of attaching to a socket handle has come into focus for me.
so IF i get around to it... Expect a win32 verison of the good ol' game.
the only thing I am wondering is what the best way to implament ansi color via a win32 prog...
    or cursor position codes, yadi...

Use the new XSDK (v3.01). It supports 32-bit compilers, handles all the socket stuff for you and supports Ctrl-A codes, yadi...

As for ANSI cursor positioning, use the XSDK bgotoxy() macro.

    1) the install files for the vc++ compiler I WAS going to use had a bad file $#)@(*$^
    2) the last time I worked with C was 1 to 1.5 years ago

sometimes I wish i had spent more time accually doing homework for C and less playing video games...
