    SERVER NAME: Vertrauen
    ADDR: vert.synchro.net
    NODE: 2 (of 15)
    DATE: 01/08/01
    TIME: 01:17 pm

If you are a new user to the system, type "New" now.
Otherwise, enter your user name or number now.

^^^ That string? It's not in the login.src its not in the text.dat and it's not in default.src .. or did I miss something?

Add or subtract system variables to make up your intro screen.

I suggest starting from scratch and then colorize it when you get it
    the way you want it.

    Thanks for all the replies!

Now all I need to find is the "SY:" prompt.

Is that hard coded in the source code?

Also, is there a way to determine and display the next time of an event? or the state of the sysop availability? :)

    @TZ:41e0

^^^ Are you sending this message via QWKnet? If so, then you need to create a SEPARATE account on Vertrauen just for QWK Networking (using your system's QWK-ID as the user name).

    Yes it is hard-coded.

You could use @TLEFT@ to display the amount of time the user has left. <shrug>

state of the sysop availability? :)

Not with a message variable, sorry.

If it doesn't vary from day to day, you could make it a bulletin or have
it appear on any screen by editing the screen.

If you want a count down message... better ask one of them fellows in
the front of the class. They are more familiar with baja programming.

To get rid of the initial screen on login or to modify it.. You need to look in the text dir and find the file answer.asc You can change this to what you want displayed or you can prob blank it to get nothing.. you can also make answer.ans for your ansi callers.. I hope this helps..
