If I was running something like ProBoard is there any alternatives to get something working?

QWK networking depends on having a QWK system either built into the BBS or added on via a door perhaps, it doesn't really matter what type of message
    base you use.

In my experience Mystic and MagickaBBS both support QWK natively and use JAM bases.

Synchronet also supports QWK using the Synchronet message base format.

You went from QWK networking to regular QWK in this reply :) If he wants to
be a node, he might be interested in FidoQWK, which converts QWK packet to
PKT files and vice versa. He would still need and FTN echomail processor.

Why not give SearchLight a try with the Valence QWK mail door, which allows
for both QWK hubbing as well as for tossing and scanning net-status QWK hubs
    :)

    Hello Robert,

You went from QWK networking to regular QWK in this reply :)

    How do you mean?

If he wants to be a node, he might be interested in FidoQWK, which converts QWK packet to PKT files and vice versa. He would still need

I've never heard of that but it might solve the issue.

Is Valence the door that William McBrine wrote? Looks interesting but I know nothing about SearchLight so my best bet is that is not going to happen.

    Is searchLight still supported/updated/registerable?

Total abandonware... I mooched every registered SL file from slbbs.com a long time ago.

    Yes, it is.

It's not updated or supported anymore, but if you know where to look, you
can get the key for version 5.1 that allows it to have an unlimited numbers
    of users/
