I glad to see all of you here! Now, listen to me.

Wasn't this the same guy who wrote Tornado BBS software by any chance? I ask because he wrote the message editor I am using now and was just wondering if this was the same guy.

    Best regards, Robert.

I am sure. Pity I never got a chance to give it a try and see what it was
    all about.

I think Mike E/ from PCMICRO likely has a copy of it you can try out.

Hmm, might check it out. But, for right now, things are pretty much all
stable here as far as mail operations go. One of the main things I wish PX would do is autocreate new areas both in it's own configuration as well as within WINS.

    Tornado was interesting software.

I remember Tornado, and was thinking back to a BBS called Crossroads
in Mountain View that had a natural language interface, back in 1987 -
you could type "read new messages", for example.

Another weird one was Pyroto Mountain, which wrapped the BBS in an
adventure game with points, levels, manna to allow you to do more, and
so on. It's available as a web app, but is pretty expensive.

Yup (mainly from the magazine Ads and his booth at ONE BBSCON '93). After that he (Seth Hamilton) did MediaHost: http://software.bbsdocumentary.com/IBM/WINDOWS/MEDIAHOST/mediahost.txt

Not sure how successful they were with it all. Proprietary models are usually only successful for a short period of time, if at all.

I have been looking all over for Charle's via his BBS... his number in the nodelist does not answer... his xanadu bbs address doesn't seem to work either... I just tried cruden.ca didn't pick up...

I wonder where he is... he's my NC... :)
