LOL - that's like modern browsers remembering passwords. That's fine
and dandy til you're not using your own machine. :-) That's why I
still KNOW my passwords. ;-)
I use the Dashlane Password Manager now...too bad I can't also add
high ascii characters to them.
If I don't have a bad night, I'm going to try to go to the Hoxie
Hamfest in the morning (Feb. 15). I hope to do the Russellville Hamfest
in March, but I'm torn between the Fort Smith Hamfest and the Arkansas Railroad Museum Show And Sale, which are always on the first Saturday
in April.
I'm taking 2 Amtrak train trips to Louisiana hamfests this year. The first one is a circuitous route to the Slidell Hamfest in late July,
and the second one is a quickie train/bus trip to the Shreveport
Hamfest in early August.
I'm an Apple user, so my stuff is also in iCloud...
So did you make it? We haven't been to one in a while, and don't know when JA>we will make it back... With Vanessa's health going downhill she hasn't JA>been working the EMT stuff and we haven't been storm chasing, so the radios JA>have been OFF more than they have been ON. Plus we've been riding to work JA>together and she is not a 'chatter,' so I don't even turn it on when she's JA>in the truck. :-)
Safe travels and have fun!!!

Jimmy,

Reminds me of the cartoon, where this plane is crashing to all these computers, monitors, towers, etc. in the sky, and the pilot curses
"D@mn cloud computers!!" <G>
Sure did. They have US67/167 finished at least to Hoxie (milepost
120), and with the Google Maps feature, it was easy to find...although
the drive was LONG. I had to stop at the McDonald's on the way back to
get something to eat and drink, to help me stay awake on the way home.
One day, that'll be part of Interstate 57.
I *WON* the first 2 door prizes:
1) A Tornado Alert Radio (https://tornadoalert.com) -- a nearly $100
2) An ARRL Publications $50 Gift Certificate.
I might be doing a forum at the Russellville Hamfest on March 7.
They've never had one for "new hams", so mine will be a first. I just
hope they can provide a projector and a screen for it. If so, I'll buy
4 copies of the 12th Edition of The ARRL Operating Manual, to offer as door prizes.
I ran into Ray Novak from IcomAmerica, and talked with him about a possible HT. One of the local clubs still is analog only, plus the
D-Star and DMR repeaters are NOT on the gateway. I'm looking at either
the IC V-86 2 meter HT, or the ID-51A Plus 2, a dual band (I think)
analog and D-Star HT. But, with news that I may have to pay an
inheritance tax on the Miller Trust after my Mom's death last August,
that may put the kabosh on new gear for awhile. I hope I can work out a payment plan.
These greedy bastards in Washington, who lament they can't survive on $500,000+ a year, don't have a clue. When The Lord said "Woe to you who devour the fortunes of widows...for you shall receive the greater damnation", and He added "Vengeance is mine, I will repay"...I can't
wait for those to come to pass.
Safe travels and have fun!!!
Even if I have to pay the inheritance tax deal (since I was the beneficiary, and split it with my brother), I am going to take these 2 trips. I have NOT had a vacation since 2009, and I need to get away
from things for a time...especially considering that field rats worked their way into what was my parents home (now mine) 2 months after my
Mom's death last August. We've had so much rain, that the rodents are running rampant across the region right now...and the long range progs show a stormy (possibily tornadic) and soggy spring. We haven't had
much of a winter here the last 3 years.
