Some time ago, we were discussing the total impossibility of uploading files and message reply packets using zmodem when telnetting with a
DOS setup, no Windows involved at all.
    <<<====== end quote
What am I missing here? I can count about 5 DOS telnet programs right
off the top of my head that have ZModem Ul/Dl capability.

Where were you when I was asking before, then? :) What are the 5 DOS
telnet programs with Zmodem ul/dl capability? And can you make the
zmodem u/l work when you are totally in DOS? Just because there's
capability doesn't mean that every thing works as expected...

Nancy...you lost me totally....what's the big deal here?

I'm using dos, pure dos, as Mark said... no windows, not a dos window
or any such but everything is purely dos programs and in dos.

Up until now, no matter what I tried, I couldn't make the zmodem uploads
work for me when I was telnetting, even though CONEX, which I use for
telnet does* have the capability built-in. Downloads worked just fine,
but for uploads I had to use kermit, which only seemed to work on
Wildcat boards besides... AND, everytime I asked people about it, no one
else had ever made zmodem uploads* work in pure DOS while telnetting.

So, it's a BIG deal to finally be able to upload, apparently anywhere,
as every bbs software I've had access to telnetting works just fine,
    because it's finally fixed. :) <dancing a little jig>

    TE: telnet from DOS.

I'm back... I've tested this now on all sorts of BBS software,
and it works consistently... Wildcat ver 4 and 5, Synchronet,
Mystic, Renegade, and Telegard are the ones that I have access to
at the moment and have tested it on. It works a lot faster than
the kermit I had been using for u/l's, too... :) He's uploaded
his program to Chowdanet BBS already, so it should be available
    there.

So what's the name of the file?

TNPORT01.ZIP (He mentioned the name of the program in his part of the
message, and figured it would be an easy search for it on the bbs.)

we could always ID by info in your user record and set a new password for you... i have no way of finding out what someone's password is unless they tell
me... they are not stored in the userbase for security reasons ;)

as I recall I came over once to look around, but probably

Ok, that sounds reasonably accurate... <G> It was long enough ago that
