From Flavio Bessa@4:801/189.1 to All on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 09:05:15
    Hello everybody.

I am configuring a new network into my system, and updated binkd.cfg accordingly.

Now the incoming echomail from the new network works, but I'm failing to send echomail to this new network.

I have configured binkd.cfg as such:

    domain happynet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 637
    domain fidonet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4

Should I have a separated directory towards each network?

    No...

Depending on your tosser it probably should be:

    domain happynet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4
    domain fidonet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4

See paragraph "22. Different FTN Domains in binkd And a Tosser Without 5D Support" of the faq (that's published here weekly).

    Bye, Wilfred.

I'm guessing you're using Enigma. Is it 5D aware? I'm guessing it's possibly not, looking at your directory layout. Try this configuration:

    domain fidonet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4
    domain happynet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4

I'm assuning your primary address is your Fidonet address.

If Enigma is 5D aware, your layout might look like: (you would need to double check which is right).

    domain fidonet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4
    domain happynet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/happynet 637

Or it might be: (this is how Mystic appears to do things)

    domain fidonet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/outbound 4
    domain happynet /home/ubuntu/enigma-bbs/mail/ftn_out/happynet 4

A bit of detective work as to where your outbound mail is will help.

the first one is your "default" zone... if you change them around, the meaning of your outbound directory changes... both your tosser and your BSO mailer need
to have the same default zone address...

i suspect that you've added Z637 to your config and placed it above your initial Z4 entry... if this is true, swap them back around and leave your Z4 entry listed first...

Should I have a separated directory towards each network?

only if your tosser can do 5D BSO...

Yes, it's Enigma, so I'll try using 4 for both. Thanks a lot!

I am using a new BBS software called Enigma, it does have an internal tosser... I'll take a look at the faq and make the changes you suggested.

    Many thanks!! ;)
