• Help with Binkd

From Flavio Bessa@4:801/189.1 to All on Monday, January 29, 2018 23:30:44
    Hello everybody.

I am doing a few tests with BinkP for Linux.

I have installed a Ubuntu VM and did a 'sudo apt-get install binkd' to get it up and running.

I have edited /etc/binkd/binkd.cfg and set up a point node to my BBS. At the end, I added the following line:

    node 21:1/146 saturnsorbit.hopto.org PASSWORD

I am doing a manual poll with the following command:

    sudo binkd -p -P 21:1/146 /etc/binkd/binkd.cfg

The poll starts, but it simply ignores the poll and terminates.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi! Flavio,

Either of the log files might give you a hint... probably your point's log would be first.

BTW, the latest recommendation for creating polls is:

    (sudo) binkd -nP 21:1/146 /etc/binkd/binkd.cfg

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers,
    Paul.
