• Areafix

From Jerry Schwartz@1:142/928 to All on Saturday, April 21, 2007 18:50:39
    Hello, All...

This is probably as good a place to ask as any.

I'm still using the original Areafix, and somewhere along the line it stopped forwarding requests. It isn't impossible that it started back at the YK2000 time, because I normally don't do research when it says an echo can't be found.
    (So many have died.)

Anybody know if it is sensitive in that way? Is there anything I can use instead that is close to a drop-in? Something that uses areas.bbs would be useful, although I could work up a conversion program if the new program uses a
    text file.

    Regards,

    Jerry Schwartz

    Not me.

    I know about SqAFix:

    Squish Area Fix (DOS,DPMI,Win32,OS/2)
Supports std AreaFix features and some
    advanced stuff like request forwarding,
    idle passthru management and more.

SqaFix is a companion program for popular
Squish Echo Mail processor by Scott Dudley.
    It provides standard AreaFix functionality
which is missing in the Squish itself. In
addition, it helps you to manage your
    echomail links locally.

Which is not a tick processor, and only works with Squish (which can use areas.bbs).

Anybody with a pots mailer in the U.S. have this as well as tic for dos? EVen if you're not, could you file atatch 'em at me through my uplink who's internet
    ready?

I plan on feeding points, and areafix for points would be handy. I've a simple
batch handling some rudimentary things for file areas now, but a full blown tic
for dos might be handy as well.

I used to use squalid for areafix for squish, and tried seal because it handled
both areafix and tic functions and was 4d aware but I liked squalid a bit better because it was configured using a flat text file as is squish/binkley etc.

I didn't think of that. I run Squish here.

    Dear Mr. Mark Lewis,

    Please pull this file:

    and forward it to

    Richard Webb (1:116/901) (?)

and/or his uplink because there's something wrong with my file attaches. Heh.
