    Hello All!

Is anybody running Binkleyterm on Linux?

If there is, how do you make it start up automatically? then the machine starts
    up?

I've think a bit about using screen, but as far as i remember does it require at running pseudo terminal..

    Regards,
    Bo

    Bo:

I need to dig up a version of Binkley for running under Linux. Do you know if this has been packaged for Debian? If not, what is the source you are using? Off of sourceforge? If sourceforge, what's the project name?

    Thanks.

Unfortially ifcico is the only packaged mailer.

You need to use the CVS version, there is not makefiles for the rar-archives. But it's quite stable :)

Ok. Guess I need to search the sourceforge site and figure out the project name, and then get setup to use the sourceforge CVS system (which I need to do anyways). What's the sourceforge project name? BTXE? BinkleyTerm? Binkley?
I should be able to hit on it fairly quickly when I finally look.

Looks like I've got BinkD and Max now running under linux. Need to pull some more stuff together to get a usable setup.... You'll know when I'm further along when you see me posting under 1:343/40 instead of 1:343/41.....

    Take care.....

The project name is btxe, http://btxe.sourceforge.net, to get the sources and compile:

    cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/btxe co btxe
    cd btxe/linux
edit Makefile, and set the fidoconf var to NO.
    make

Thanks..... I would have guessed it properly then..... I'll add the project to my sourceforge list of project to monitor......

edit Makefile, and set the fidoconf var to NO.

Thanks..... I'd have missed the fidoconf variable on my initial attempts if I didn't see this. <grin>

See muffin echo.... I've still got some bugs to work out with the Linux version of Maximus before I'm comfortable replying from that setup....

That's the first cvs checkout I've done since I brought up the Linux box. Only
issue I hit was cvs wanting a .cvspass file. After creating a blank one, the above worked fine. I know, that blank .cvspass file will come back and bite me
when I finally try to submit updates back to sourceforge....

Now BTXE is complaing about not finding binkley.lng when run anyware, and not finding binkley.cfg and binkley.evt when the .lng file is found.... <grin> Time to read up on the differences between binkley 2.60 and 2.60XE....

Amd I found I had already loaded the ifmail debian package.... So, most of the
pieces to run the BBS under Linux are coming togetheer......

Also, now need to track down a few archivers defined by maximus compress.cfg file but not yet on my Linux box.....

    Again, thanks for the pointer!

    Take care......

:-) Well the sad thing is that nothing happend since 2001.

    cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/btxe co
btxe cd btxe/linux edit Makefile, and set the fidoconf var to NO.

Ok :) Even if i've fidoconf here it doesn't work, maybe they did changes to the
    structures.

Hm, you don't need it will just move on the progress.

I don't like ifcico, i did nearly call the Phillipines, then i expect it calling my BOSS in Odense, Denmark ;)

In the max-3.03a is there a working compress.cfg under Linux.

    Again, thanks for the pointer!

    Absolutely no problem :)

If you need a nodelist compiler you can find a v7 nodelist compiler, fastlst at
    http://husky.sf.net.
