Officials claim in doing so, no one's rights are being violated; but
what if one does not want to show police their driver's license or
happened to have forgotten to bring it with them that day?
If one refuses to participate by suddenly getting out of line and not entering the building, will that now be deemed enough probable cause
to get maced in the face and a billy-club across the back of the
knees?
And what if authorities deny citizens access to food in supermarkets,
to buy and sell as alluded to in Revelation 13, unless they comply
with draconian identification measures?
In the case of a patriotic woman likened to a new Rosa Parks detained
for refusing to show her ID to Federal Protective Service operatives
while riding on a bus on her way to work through the Lakewood Federal Center in Colorado, authorities contend that they do not compare these documents against any watch-list or compile them into a database. Then
why even bother since you are obviously not conducting surveillance
Though he does not carry much weight among ruling elites since he is
a dead White male sympathetic to Christianity, Benjamin Franklin said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Those already conditioned to be good little collectivists will whine,
"What do you have to hide that you can't show your ID." If that is
the case, then what line of reasoning are you going to invoke when government security agencies insist that cameras and recording devices
must be placed in every home; after all, if you haven't done anything wrong, what do you have to hide?

I'd bring my lawyer with me, and have a buddy with a video camera
some distance away, and point out that I have a legal RIGHT to be
in a public building, and I likewise have a legal RIGHT to not
carry my wallet/ID when I'm not driving!
Isn't it amazing how the airports have increased security in the
wake of 9/11? (well, they bought new uniforms/logos for their crack security team of losers!)

Probably.

Maybe they'll simplify the identification process by implanting a
RFID chip in your wrist, eh?
(so you'll have access even though you might forget/lose your
wallet/ID)

It's called "harrassing the citizens so as to generate a systemic atmosphere of fear/respect for the new leaders, the police"

One of my favourite quotes of the USA's Founding Fathers!

If you have a computer, internet, and Windows, you already have the equivalent of Big Brother Is Watching You in your home!
And be very careful when reaching for your wallet / ID, as police
have been known to shoot first & examine the wallet later.
(so you'll have access even though you might forget/lose your wallet/ID)
Until your access is revoked for some reason.

As I already said to them, I don't HAVE my wallet, so my sudden
reach is probably well to be interpreted as dangerous! *G*

Have you read that scifi story about the guy who was sentenced to
have his ability to use the universal computer access system in
society revoked, so he was effectively a non-entity, and was much
shunned by everyone, as being lower than the lowest illiterate. . .
He had to resort to ruses to get children to key in his
login/approval sequences. . .
As I already said to them, I don't HAVE my wallet, so my sudden
reach is probably well to be interpreted as dangerous! *G*
Unless they think you are bipolar & have forgotten to take your meds.
I guess the sky marshalls in Florida had little choice but to shoot
to kill, given that he claimed to have a bomb & was reaching into his
bag, or so it is reported.

"or so it is reported". . .
That's so much a better report to give to one's superiors & the
press/etc. than "whoops, I thought that pear he was eating for
lunch was a grenade, so I fired 40 rounds into his head, then
reloaded and emptied another banana clip into his torso!"
I have since read a number of reports of the Florida shooting that
throw doubt on claims that the deceased mentioned having a bomb;
shades of the London Tube shooting.
