More hate books found in bookstores

ISLAMIC hate books that advocate jihad have been found in Melbourne
    bookstores.

The Federal Government wants to create an offence to outlaw the
glorification of suicide bombing, the Sunday Herald Sun said.

Attorney-General Phillip Ruddock said the Government "did not want
people encouraged to go out and think about suicide bombing on the
basis that it's going to benefit them in the afterlife".

The books were found at the Islamic Clothing and Book Store in Coburg
    and Brunswick's Michael Street mosque.

World Arrogance, a book written by Professor Ahmad Zidan, is anti-
Semitic and said Western culture bred venereal disease, broken homes,
    suicide and homosexuality.

Another book, Jihad in the Qu'ran and Sunnah, encouraged the use of
    force.

"When you meet those who disbelieve, smite at their necks `til when
you have killed and wounded many of them, then take them as captives,"
    the book said.

Mr Ruddock said censorship laws could allow a loophole to be closed,
which would effectively ban the books.

"We may not want to prosecute publishers or book stockists for having
books of this sort, if we can have matters of glorification of suicide
bombing looked at in the context of whether or not a book should be
allowed to be sold under the classification regime," Mr Ruddock said.

On the other hand, we are told that the true meaning of jihad is "misunderstood"....

    GUEST COLUMN
True meaning of word 'jihad' is misunderstood
    By Shamshad Nasir, Guest Columnist

The true meaning of jihad is generally misunderstood, as this word
becomes part of our vernacular. The scripture of Islam, Quran, makes
it obligatory for Muslims to do jihad. It would be wrong to assume
that bloodshed of the innocent, and creating disorder, is in any way
    jihad.

Jihad is an Arabic word meaning to strive, to achieve a grand
objective. What grand objective, one might ask? It is the objective of benefiting oneself and the rest of humanity.

It is a general perception in the West that Islam promotes terrorism.
The fact is that such actions are totally opposite to what the word
"Islam" means. Islam means peace and state of constant submission to
    the will of God.

There are a couple of reasons why there is such a misconception about
Islam. One such reason is the behavior of certain radical Muslims, and
the other reason is the bias by some in the West against Islam and the ignorance of many throughout the world.

The dreadful picture of Islam that is presented in the West by some,
and the concept of jihad that is practiced by some in the Islamic
world today, have no basis in the Holy Quran, and no example of such
practice is found in the life of the Prophet of Islam.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of God be upon him)
    was the Prince of Peace.

Looks like blasphemy to me, to describe Muhammad as being a "Holy Prophet",
and the "Prince of Peace". Nothing like the "Prince of Peace" I know!

If jihad is truly "misunderstood", why are those in mosques and islamic bookshops selling books advocating the "misunderstood" meaning of jihad?

    Cheers, Steve..
