politically incorrect jokes, with a maximum punishment of up to seven
years' prison. The House of Lords tried to insert a free-speech amendment,
but Justice Secretary Jack Straw knocked it out. It was Straw who previously called for a redefinition of Englishness and suggested the "global baggage
of empire" was linked to soccer violence by "racist and xenophobic white males". He claimed the English "propensity for violence" was used to
subjugate Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and that the English as a race
    were "potentially very aggressive".

to put it to the public in a General election as he knew he too
would be booted out and on the next train back to Scotland where
    he belongs.

We have a Scottish PM, Chancellor and many other Scots in parliament.

But there are also Scottish, Welsh and NI Assemblies, to determine
many issues about those bits of the UK. Thus, Gordon Brown has no
influence over the affairs of his own Scottish constituents who voted
him in and foisted him upon us, but he has a profound influence over
    the affairs of the English.

English taxpayers subsidise all sorts of benefits enjoyed by Scottish taxpayers which the English don't have.

EG: Free medicine prescriptions, free university education,
free care for the elderly, no bridge tolls, and lots of other things.

No wonder we're in a mess.

It's as I've said before - if no-one starts any threads, these
characters wither like grapes on the vine. Start a thread, and up
they pop. I guess they think their life's work is done- kill off
packet by destroying and opportunity for sensible informed debate.

Thanks once more for the link Peter - hope you had a nice weekend,
and all the best to you and yours for the week ahead.

    Kind regards

    David,
