Thom LaCosta's private elisting has no official status in Fidonet. >LL>Janis Kracht (former Zone 1 Coordinator) told me that.

ONly correction I'll make to that is that Janis is not
"former" z1 coordinator, but is still z1 coordinator.

    Only in her own mind.

Like members of a U.S. president's cabinet, each zone coordinator
serves only until a new international coordinator is elected.

there is no international coordinator and likely will not be one... the ZCC takes care of the main job that the IC had...

The newly elected international coordinator might choose not to
appoint any zone coordinators, allowing those positions to remain unfilled.

can't/won't happen... they would be lynched toot sweet and no one would pay any
    attention to them...

sysops will use it to determine the rightful moderator of
an echo for purposes of deciding to honor an access cut.

I can do the same, creating my own private elisting.
In fact, I already have. And that makes me the official owner/moderator/whateveryouwanttocallit of every echo
    in fidonet. :)

that is why thom's list is the one that the backbones recognise and no others... this explains why your list is ignored like others ;)

As you know if you look through TOm's echolist you see my
name listed as mod of a few echoes as well.

Call it quasi official, as recognized by the following:

TO add any echo to the backbone a confirmation message from
    the echolist robot must be shown;

    tHe echolist does get a special 1:1/21 address;

sysops will use it to determine the rightful moderator of an echo for purposes of deciding to honor an access cut.

    Hello Mark,

there is no international coordinator and likely will not be one...

    Until now -

I hereby declare myself as being the one and only International
Coordinator of Fidonet, to do as I please if and when I want to.

the ZCC takes care of the main job that the IC had...

And the main job is not defined. And that means the IC can do
whatever he/she wants if and when he/she wants to.

The newly elected international coordinator might choose not to
appoint any zone coordinators, allowing those positions to remain >LL>unfilled.

    can't/won't happen...

A self-appointed dictator can do whatever the heck he/she wants,
whenever he/she wants, if he/she wants. Including doing nothing
    at all.

they would be lynched toot sweet and
no one would pay any attention to them...

Hmmm. Self-mutilation. Never thought of doing that. Not sure
if I want to do that. Especially to myself. :)

Which is the present case today.

    In other words -

There is no Zone 1 Coordinator.
There is no Zone 2 Coordinator.
There is no Zone 3 Coordinator.
There is no Zone 4 Coordinator.
There is no Zone 5 Coordinator.
There is no Zone 6 Coordinator.

Of course, you can declare yourself as being Zone 1 Coordinator. Or
Zone 2 Coordinator. Or Zone 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 (yes, there is a Zone 7) Coordinator. But that does not mean that anybody (much less a sysop)
will recognize you as being any kind of zone coordinator.

As you know if you look through TOm's echolist you see my
name listed as mod of a few echoes as well.

    So?

And nobody noticed. For that matter, nobody noticed Lee's list
