• Hoagland's "Dark Mission"

So...saw it on sale on Amazon, decided to get it for my Kindle.

Richard Hoagland's "Dark Mission." Basically an update on his "Monuments of Mars."

I've been following Hoagland since..christ..the early 90's. His Web 1.0 site was once a frequent visit. As were his appearances on Art Bell's radio show.

I'm well aware of Hoagland's theories and how they have evolved. I'm not convinced of the "Lunar Domes," but I do think he's right that we're not really seeing what's up there. The most interesting part of "Dark Mission"'s story is the part about the Apollo astronauts, specifically Buzz Aldrin, being unable to remember what it "felt like" to be on the moon. This is verifiable, you can google it.

The book switches to Mars pretty quickly. And it goes right to Oz, or Neverland, or whatever over-the-rainbow place you can imagine. I stopped following Hoagland before the 2000's but holy crap, a lot happened.

I'm actually amazed that NASA spent so much time dealing with Hoagland and his associates. But maybe thanks to Art Bell they had a lot of exposure, in addition to the Web 1.0 wild west.

The NEW stuff they claim they found at Cydonia is interesting. Especially the intregue about raw data that was swapped with false data. If you ignore what Hoagland says is UNDER the sands of Cydonia it is very hard to ignore what the Russians imaged at Hydroate Chaos, and what the Americans imaged at Hydaspis Chaos.

Hoagy is always fun to listen to, and to read. This book is a "fun read" at the very least, but if you want to stop and say "what if," it takes on something more.

I miss the Art Bell "Golden Years". Seemed like he was one of the top
guests on C2CAM for a while.
