It didn't smell funky when I punctured the plastic. So, Jasper (the
pit bull mix) enjoyed it very much. With no side effects.

They can smell if they shouldn't eat it. I don't think I would like
to have the sense of smell the dogs do.

As I said - regular carbon steel knives are a piece of cake. But the stainless steel chef's knives and santoku are beyond me. Never
thought of scissors. But, then I don't sew all that much. Bv)=

The most I do is run them through my knife sharpening gadget 15-20
times, then hone them. Seems to keep them cutting pretty good, of
course my good vegitable knife is now used for everything from dog food
    to opening cans. (sigh)

I saw my house mate getting ready to open a can using one of my knives.

I remarked "That can cause you to have broken bones."

When he looked baffled I continued "If you open cans with my knives I'll
    break your effing arm!"

He went and found a can opener. Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Can Opener Corn Chowder
    Categories: Five, Vegetables, Chilies, Dairy
    Yield: 3 Servings

    16 oz Bag corn niblets
21 1/2 oz (2 cans) cream of potato
    - soup; undiluted
4 oz Can chopped green chilies
    1 Soup can milk
    Fresh ground pepper

Open the soup and dump into your crockpot. Add the corn
and milk and stir. Add the chilies and stir again.

Set the cooker on low and let it do its thing for about
four hours. Just before serving grind pepper (to taste)
into the soup and give it another stir to combine.

Ladle into bowls and dig in. Refrigerate leftovers (if
any) and nuke back to life for supper the next day.

I don't think that approach would work with my father in law, son or
    wife. LOL
