what specific areafix command do i send to a dbridge system to disable ZIP other archivers for my node? i want only raw PKTs from them... the help doesn't and there's no examples or anything telling how...

That is because there is no support in Areafix for that feature. The Sysop on the other side configures uncompressed packets manually for you in their Internet BinkD settings screen.

Nick, some tossers do have that feature IIRC. I believe FastEcho does.

ok... can you give pointers and such so that i can forward to them? they may be
reading here, though... it was right at one time but then something changed and
now it is back archiving into bundles... i have no idea what version of db they
are using, though... possibly the latest... they connect here with binkd and it
holds no info on the db version in the connection data...

    thanks!

I know, I'm aware, but to implement that at this present time is not something that I really have the time to do.

    Its very easy.

The Sysop goes into Config-BinkD Sessions and adds "U" for Uncompressed mail to the options for your system information.
