Does anyone know if Todd is still registering his games?

Didn't he release a key for them all to be freeware?

I thought so too, but I can't find it in my files.

    Dear BBS Sysop:

    1. I am no longer in the DOS Door writing business and have decided to
release ALL of my Door Games as FREEWARE to any Sysop who wishes to use
them on their BBS. Be advised that since they are now free I will not
provide any further tech support on them nor answer any questions regarding them and they are still protected by copyrights owned by me. Even though
they are now FREEWARE, donations are still welcome, if you feel so
inclined, and can be sent to the address listed above.

    2. The registration key code numbers and last published versions are:

GAME KEY CODE NUMBER LAST VERSION

    BioGuide BioRhythm (BIOG) 0688110347 BIOG200.ZIP
    CampTown Races (CAMPT) NDD3174 CAMPT200.ZIP
    Escape Arcade Door(ESCAPE) SS945231GG ESC100.ZIP
    Death By Trivia(DBT) 01720693 DBT100.ZIP
    Advent Door Game Toolkit(ADGT) 34790165438 ADGT103.ZIP
GodFather of Crime (GOC) Q:u&+ GOC211.ZIP
Rise To Power (RTP) PSQRVW RTP200B.ZIP
Task Force Broadside (TFB) DD060644 TFB113.ZIP
Ship Of The Line (SOTL) TF211005 SOTL113.ZIP
    Grunt Fest (GFEST) ML200769 GFEST123.ZIP
    Way Freight (WFRT) 15569305001 WFRT113.ZIP

    3. To implement the key codes do the following

    a. To implement the key code for all but GodFather of Crime (versions
2.11) or Rise To Power (version 2.00B) , use a text editor to modify the
3rd line of the KEY.DAT file to show the key code shown above for that
door. You can also change the first and second lines of the Key.Dat file to reflect your name and BBS if you wish to do so at the same time. That's it!

    b. To implement the key code for GodFather of Crime (version 2.11) or
Rise To Power (version 2.00B) just erase the existing NKEY.DAT (if there is one) and type "GOC /L" or RTP/L respectively and then hit the enter key to
run the game in local mode. At that time the game will ask you for your
key code. Just type in the one shown above EXACTLY as shown. Case IS important!

    c. You are now registered with all the attendant benefits mentioned in
    the game documentation.

    4. You are now ready to enjoy the registered versions of these fine DOS ANSI/ASCII games!

    Sincerely;

    Bob Dalton

    Tim,

Does anyone know if Todd is still registering his games?

Not sure...they originally could be registered via bbsfiles.com --
but with the death of Doug Rhea recently, that site is long gone. I
think digital man (Rob Swindell, author of Synchronet) still has
the files, but I think the key generators disappeared with Doug's
    death from colon cancer.

Two different folks. I was lucky enough to register several
of Todd's doors from bbsfiles.com before Doug Rhea lost his

I've learned THE HARD WAY...that when I'm tired, to NOT do ANY work on the BBS. :P

One time, I thought I was in a temporary directory, at a DOS prompt, and
did DEL *.* and answered Y -- over 500 ascii, ansi, and RIP bulletin files
    were gone forever. :P

They had a temporary key that was only good for a year. The door would
have to be registered to no longer worry about that, or reinstalled every
year. His cost of $5 for most doors was far cheaper than the initial cost
    of many of them.

    Whoops! (@_@)

Some mistakes are easily forgotten. Even though your computer had forgotten
the files, clearly you hadn't forgotten that mistake!

Same goes for coding, too. Thinking that I could write something better or simpler, I've deleted whole chunks of a program, only to berate myself for it the next day...

those doorgame registrations probably arent in my archive that people downloaded [and themselves setting up sites as the new bbsfiles.com, which i find pathetic]

regardless, bbsfiles doug would sell registrations from cracks and keygens that were GIVEN to him and he never recipricated as agreed upon. he just made a buck off of them.
