    Hi,

So two years later and I'm back messing about on Synchronet and my solar powered raspberry pi project (although it's actually currently in my house, which does fulfil the brief as I have a 5kW of solar panels on the roof and a 5kWh battery. Hooked back up to DOVEnet and a much more resilient set up for synchronet means I should actually hang around a little longer this time!

Hope there's still people out there.

    Ben.

Wow, brothers from another mother! I have also just re-entered the Synch-World and after some absence and plowed in with a tiny board computer - a Banana-Pi because I am CHEAP and wanted a SATA port - I am Using my board much more, so I hope it survives my obssession with constant futzing about with wares.

which does fulfil the brief as I have a 5kW of solar panels on the roof and a 5kWh battery. Hooked back up to DOVEnet and a much more resilient set up for synchronet means I should actually hang around a little longer this time!

I have about 25 damaged panels in a nice stack next to the shed, waiting to be sited and put to use. I'm looking for time and gumption for it, all the bits are got. I could easily run the BBS system off the solar once it is up.

Hope there's still people out there.

"People" is a kind term. "Phreaks and Gheeks" might be closer to the mark!

Nice project. I like the idea of running a system of a SOC computer, and solar.

Years ago I used to call a BBS called SolarPi. I don't know where it went, but it was pretty cool.

SolarPi used to live at bbs.solarpi.net:23

The sysop had some ham stuff in there as well.

I wonder what power output you currently get to feed your RPi. I vaguely remember it wanted perhaps about 10 W with few amperes at 5 volts. What size
of panel you need for it?
