So if a BBSer gets on a boat, how is his 300 baud moden gonna connect to the boards if he's on a boat? Maybe one of those big rich people boats with the cellular car pohnes on them. I bet anyone willing to pay long distance and cellular data call charges like that can afford to replace any gun they lost in the boating accident, so don't worry. We can write this off as tax expenses.

I've heard that this is possible. I'm wondering how that works.

Packet radio. I believe Sync has an interface for it built in, somewhere. It's similar to how a modem works over a phone, this is just done via radio. when one system stops transmitting the other responds.
