the RPi4... I have some of my own ROMs to start with, but I wonder if anyone knows of any good collections of software>>> Currently I hear that
Anywho, anyone know of a collection of just ROMs and support files (descriptions of games, preview images or videos, etc)?
I have a couple of RPi3's, so I bought a GameHAT a cool case and some controllers - as a project for me and my 8 yr old to build. He's bugging me everyday to see if the stuff has arrived! ...δεσ*
What is the gamehats function???
As for the ROMs, I'm thinking I'll lean away from any huge collection as its easy to load yourself - and scrape the video and JPG info about each title.

But for $40 (which includes the 128GB SD card) - somebody else has done all that work for you, and you have 18,000 of them! (I think anyway... :)
(I didnt know that there were that many....)
I just got an alert that it will be arriving today - woot.
So I have this project that had recently taken a back burner because RetroPie wasn't working for the newest Raspberry Pi 4 machine>>> But they recently released a new version that seems to work pretty well with RPi4!

I was hoping for a little more horsepower to run some n64 games, but alas, the n64 emulator doesn't seem to function any better on the pi4 than it did on the pi3 at this time. Maybe once they can optimize stuff for the pi4 a bit better, things will smooth out.

I totally agree.. and I'm even feeling like... Nintendo; regular NES 8-bit doesn't feel perfect!! However, I am using a keyboard right now as I wait for an xbox wireless reciever for xbox 360 remotes... so I'll try it out when I have regular controllers and all - and it better function.
I wonder what box, as cheap as possible and hopefully smaller than a normal console, will run everything up to N64 (I know, I know... but at least run it GOOD ENOUGH..), Dreamcast and others all in one system. I want to create an emulation box to be done with it-- one box, all my systems up to N64 and I can stop working on it. :P
a NUC? An ODRIOD? Hmmmm...
My RPi 4 is a 1GB version - I guess I could take it up to the 4GB version before I write em off. They do so much other stuff, I don't mind ordering more of them.
