Hello everybody!
Farmers Branch is just out side of Dallas Fort Worth. What they are dancing around is the victim was a hispanic teen... the officer was black. Had this been a white officer it may have made the news... a white officer shooting a black teen #blacklivesmatter would have been all over it. But this is a honorable black police officer who was off duty at the time and somehow felt threatened enough to shoot this teen.
There's little being covered by the media on this. Granted I am former Law Enforcement I do know the use of a weapon is not a privilidge but as it was always taught to me the most sacred trust and responsibility the public gives us. From my eyes I can find no reason based on what is being reported that this kid should have been shot.
And I strongly believe #alllivesmatter and this young hispanic teen had a whold
lifetime to get it right that was taken from him. I hope that there will be more covered about this. I hope it doesn't get swept under the rug.

ADDISON (CBSDFW.COM) The Farmers Branch police officer accused
of killing a teen burglary suspect while he was off-duty was
arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.
Based on our investigation thus far we had probable cause to
make the arrest this evening, said Addison Police Chief, Paul
Spencer in a statement. But this is a rapidly-evolving
situation and it remains an active investigation. Therefore, we
are refraining at this time from discussing the evidence
collected thus far or about the specifics of this case. We
expect there are still several weeks of additional investigative
work to do.
The shooting happened at a gas station at Marsh Lane and Spring
Valley Road just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.
Detectives said Officer Ken Johnson saw someone burglarizing a
vehicle at a nearby apartment complex. The suspects took off,
but Johnson went after them in his own vehicle.
The chase ended in gunfire, with the driver, Jose Raul Cruz
being struck and killed and the passenger suffering injuries as
well.
Officer Johnson was assigned to the patrol division since
joining the Farmers Branch Police Department in March of 2015.
Prior to joining Farmers Branch, he was a police officer with
Dallas Area Rapid Transit and previously served in the United
States Army, according to a news release from Farmers Branch
Police.
Officer Johnson was placed on administrative leave with pay,
while the Department conducts an internal administrative
investigation of the officers conduct.
The Addison Police Department is working on the case with
association with the Dallas County District Attorneys office.
Officer Johnson is currently at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center
in Dallas.
