Hello Matt,
If sexuality and gender conforming change efforts was a reliable
practice you would see people standing in line to partake in those
practices like a new iPhone release.
Why?
We have a bill that is upsetting the religious community in our state even though my state is very far left. I was saying if the practices they want
to
keep were reliable then you would see less need or want for people to ban the practices.
Religious community? You should read "The Handmaid's Tale" by
Margaret Atwood. Quite an eye-opener. What would society be like
under a monotheocracy in which the regime takes the Book of Genesis
absolutely at its word? What would the consequences be for men and
women of its population?
The idea is not as far-fetched as it sounds. And it may come
to the US, far sooner than you might think. Consider the possibility
of Mike Pence becoming president. His worldview is that of a
Dominionist. Kind of a Christian fundamentalist sort of guy,
on steroids.
If you think living in Iran is scary for Muslims, living in a society
ruled by Christian fundamentalists would be even worse.
Dominionists are modern-day Pharisees. It is this mindset that
Jesus railed against, and ultimately got her killed. But we all
know she can never die ...
