    You might want to look into DOSBOX. http://dosbox.sourceforge.net. The latest version (0.65 at this time) will allow you to configure a COM
    port to any port.

    For example, a section on one of the configuration files in one of my setups:

    serial1=modem listenport:23
    serial2=modem listenport:2323
    serial3=directserial:COM3
    serial4=disabled

    This program is FREE, and is available for many platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. The OS/2 version is at 0.63.

    So basically it has VMODEM support built in then?

    I am not sure what mechanism it uses, but put basically, yes. As I remember, the "serial port to telnet" either didn't work in versions prior to 0.65. I
    do remember that the configuration options for it were different.

    I am not sure if I replied or not, but I am not sure if it does or not. You can
    check out dosbox.sourceforge.net and there should find some documentation. I know DOSEMU does, but I don't believe it handles telnet.

    Actually, the correct URL is www.dosbox.com. The URL above will forward
    you to the new one.
