I've got a strange problem: I cannot find my fe.log anywhere.
I am using Fastecho 5.12+, and have the pathname set, but it
isn't there. Nor anywere on the hard drives in the computer.
Strange??
Any suggestions???

i'll say that's strange... there is no FE 5.12, for one
thing... according to your control lines (quoted above)
you are using FE 1.45...
how long as this been going on? can you find it /while/
mail is being tossed? when did you first notice that the
log was missing?
5.12? Where did that come from? Last version I remember
seeing of fastecho (the verion I use) is 1.46pl1.
You are talking about the FastEcho program written by
Tobias Burtchard(SP!) to toss Fidonet compatable
echomail/netmail packets into the message base, right?
Have you looked in your fesetup to see where the fe.log
is defined as being and looked in that directory?

{blush}, you're right, it is v1.45+, not 5.12 {grin}
According to the setup program, it should be in the FastEcho
directory, but is not. Everything else works fine, all mails are delivered correctly, but the log is 'invisible'.

Sorry, my mistake, you are right, it IS v1.45+
Everything seems to be working properly, all mails going to
the right areas. I first noticed it a couple of days ago.
I have not emailed Tobias about it yet, but that is my next
task. Hoping I could get help without bothering him.

I have 4 physical drives in this machine, and the fe.log is
not on ANY of them. I have checked with: dir fe.log /s on
every drive.
are you able to locate any of the log files??

I just realised that I first noticed this happening about the
time you wrote these messages.....
what OS are you running under?
i'm running under OS/2 Warp 3 Connect and not seeing these
problems at all... my system does archive log files each night,
though...

Win98 (still), it's not really bugging me but I am
curious?????

I haven't used Warp for about 7 years! I just threw Warp
Server 4 into the rubbish bin yesterday - :-( My server is
Debian.
