    Hi, everyone...

It's about damned time Scott released the source to Max and Squish. Believe it or not, I do think that maybe Rob Swindell, the author of Synchronet, may have had a bit to do with it: he and Scott both work for the same company (as Rob has mentioned before). Maybe Scott finally saw how much people liked his stuff and has now allowed to move on and perhaps finally be updated. :)

I doubt it. I've been on Scott ever since he hinted at putting out the source years ago. I just re-reminded him for about the 20th time a week or two ago, and now he's released it.

Thanks for reminding him..... I hope it isn't too late to interest the folks towards porting Maximus to Linux. With MBSE and Husky projects already existing, well.... Ok, so Husky could use a BBS to go with it....

    Take care.....

Maybe the Squish support in EleBBS will be fixed then. It sort of works, but not quit correct.

Well, with you on his butt, I'm sure that your dogged determination finally caused him to have a mental breakdown and release the source. <G>

But, I'm glad that you did... are you skilled enough to program in C? Maybe work on Max or something? Or are you just gonna spend your time waxing your big ol' Caddy? <G>

    <laugh> Yeah, that's it.

Nah... I just gently stayed on him. He was very busy, and was out of the country (both Canada & the USA) for quite a while, so he needed time, and needed reminding. I provided the latter. <laugh>

are you skilled enough to program in C?

    Hell no.

Or are you just gonna spend your time waxing your big ol' Caddy? <G>

Well, the '53 Fleetwood -does- take about a week to wash it, so...
<chuckle> (For those that don't understand that last part... I just purchased a classic 4-Door 1953 Cadillac Fleetwood, which is 4415lbs and 18' long.)

I got on Maartin about that years ago-he kinda just blew me off about it. And he wonders why I never bothered to try EleBBS. ;)

Nexus is being ported to Linux as we speak.

    Sean -

Did you have any problems with Nexus' Squish support? I don't run Squish,
so it's hard for me to test it thoroughly.

I never had a problem with it. :)

That while running under OS/2 and Win32.

Actually, even though it's such a land-yacht, it's not all that bad on fuel. It's only got a Cadillac 331 CID engine in it. (Fairly standard for 1953.)

When I -do- fill it, we're talking $25 to $30, depending on prices.

I've got to get around to that. I have one picture with the wife standing next
to it, but it's poor quality. I'll have to do a series before I put it away for the winter.
