Do any of you know a utility for editing a V7 nodelist, which
comes with the source.

Something simulear to Bonk.

Uh, not sure about that... I'd been looking for something like that myself. Wish the BONK source code was out there.

Uh, not sure about that... I'd been looking for something like that myself. Wish the BONK source code was out there.

I would wish too.. But I do have code to access a V7 nodelist, so it might not be the might problem to make a tool which can display and edit the nodelist.

It might be easier to write the software by your self. First get the sources, which might be written in Pascal, then port it.. Kinda a big work..

If you can find any Opus source code look for Oman (Bonk is a subset of Oman).

You might also check out Binkley (dunno about source though).

As much as I can remember the interface and the handling of colours on the screen I'm pretty sure it is Pascal. However, fpk does a quite decent job on such things. On the other hand, reinventing the wheel gives you the opportunity
to choose a language that is more widespread nowadays.

Binkley was mentioned on an Opus info page concerning the V7 Nodelist. Whether it will Edit is unknown ... I spend a fair amount of time Online looking for things <g> and will keep an eye out.

Yes, I did see so in the source code from Maximus/Binkleyterm, it's using the Opus structs!

I do not. I don't have the time right now, but looking up the name via Google or similar engines might do the trick.

I really don't like scripting for those perpuses, a program written
in C might be more effective in that way.

Efficiency does hardly matter nowadays. 1MB of nodelist used to be a huge amount of data to search through on a 286 oder 386. But with the computers we have today, a simple text-based search even on the raw nodelist would be fast enough (actually the whole nodelist compiler-thing is somewhat obsolete now imho).

While you are looking for source for BONK, also look for Son of Bonk (SOB). I'm not sure if SOB had source distributed..... Just another angle I'm thinking of.
