    them from.
    Ah Hah! I knew there had to be a better way of dealing with multiple NodeDiff files rather than mucking in batch files!

    :) Actually NU can execute further batch files for you, once diffs have been sifted through and any nodelists updated as required.

    Now, if I could request that you expand on your explanantion and
    provide more details... For example, where does a person locate the "advanced diff assimilator called: NU?"

    I can't recall where I found it. If you have any sort of IP mailer: BinkP; telnet; or ifcico, you can grab it (i.e., FREQ) from here during my on-line hours (or any other mutually-agreed time). Heck I'll even turn on a FTP server
    if you want. I'd offer email but I can't guarantee my sending address hasn't been blocked by some dweeb ISP. Then, there's always via POTS through my BinkleyTerm mailer during our ZMH... :)

    What is the archive name?

    NU_300G2.RAR, 31-Mar-99 (226K) which includes the 2.20 release with a 3.00-gamma2 update, along with a registration 'hack' tool.

    Is it a "freebie?"

    Yes, by virtue of being abandonware (see above hack).

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    I may have been hasty with my netmail about not receiving you netmail - it landed on my system today.

    I will respond to your netmail when I complete this message...

    Replying to a message from Gerald Miller 1:342/512 to Paul Quinn,

    About Multiple NodeDiff files, On Sat Jan 03 2004

    Just a question:

    Have you looked at Qnode?

    From Qnode Doc:

    1.5 - MULTIPLE NETWORKS

    QNode also supports the compilation of many different input nodelists
    into one big output file. This is used for the inclusion of other
    networks (like SIGnet for example.)

    The configuration file command which enables this is the 'NODELIST'
    command, which instructs QNode on which nodelists that it is supposed
    to compile.

    To compile a joint Fidonet, Signet system you would use the two
    commands: 'NODELIST NODELIST' and 'NODELIST SIGNODES'.

    WARNING: If you use a 'NODELIST' command in your configuration file,
    then the default fidonet nodelist will NOT be included. You must
    explicitly include the 'NODELIST NODELIST' statement if you still wish
    to include the fidonet nodelist.

    There is a special type of input nodelist called a 'modification'
    nodelist. It can be used to insert points, or even zones, regions,
    nets, hubs, or basically anything. It is most often used to insert
    points though.

    The basic form of the modification nodelist is:

    ---cut here---
    Zone,1,->
    Region,17,->
    Host,140,->
    ,26,->
    Point,1,The_North_Village,Saskatoon_Sk,James_West,1-306-384-0836,9600
    ---cut here---

    All lines which are used to advance the current node position must be
    terminated with the ",->" sequence, and may not have any other
    characters after that sequence.

    WARNING: 'modification' nodelists will probably severely confuse a
    version 6 nodelist. They are only for the use of version 7 nodelists.

    Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

    We are a fine board trying to make it better.

    He was after a diff updater tool, to handle multiple nodelists & diff files (some of which might be forwarded by *Cs in error).

    Qnode is a nodelist index compiler for BinkleyTerm. A different animal altogether. :)

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Only partially correct. My version of QNode came with QDiff which processes diff files. :)

    [sfx: gulp!] Damn, you're correct. It's been 6 years since I poked around in that lot. :)

    I only knew that because I ws recently using it to process diffs before I switched the hub to Linux.
