    Remarks:

    f Has a ::f1d0:<zone>:<net>:<node> style host address.
(zone, net, node in decimal notation)
IO Incoming only (Node can not make outgoing IPv6 calls)
OO Outgoing only (Node can not accept incoming IPv6 calls).
INO4 No IPv4 (Node can not accept incoming IPv4 calls).
PO4 Prefers Out on 4 (Node can make outgoing IPv6 calls,
but is configured to try IPv4 first)
6DWN The IPv6 connectivity of this node is temporarely down.
NO6 The node no longer presents an IPv6 address in the nodelist
and will soon be removed from this list.
HOLD The node is temporarely off-line. Mail may be routed.
DOWN This node is Down for both IPv4 and IPv6 and will be
removed from this list if the condition pertains.
PM Prospective Member. The node has demonstrated IPv6
capability but is not listed or does not advertise an
IPv6 address in the Fidonet nodelist yet.

    Notes:

To make an IPv6 connection to a node connected via 6to4 tunneling
one may have to force the mailer into IPv6 (-6 option in binkd's
node config for binkd up to 1.1a-96, -64 option for binkd 1.1a-97
and up when compiled with AF_FORCE=1). If the destination address
is a 6to4 tunnel address (2002::/16) many OSs default to IPv4 if
    an IPv4 address is present.

    JAMNNTPD SERVERS LIST =================================================================

    The Johan Billing JamNNTPd project

This is a list of known JamNNTPd servers working. They are essentially
the modern version of Bulletin Board Systems.

You connect to them using the newsreader of your choice and you don't
need any other software installed on your computer -- regardless of
operating system -- but that favourite mail client of yours.

Even smart phones can handle this, giving you the opportunity to get
your daily doses of fidonet on the bus, tram or train on the way to
    your job, school or whatever.

    FIDONEWS INFORMATION =================================================================

    How to Submit an Article

If you wish to submit an article for inclusion in the Fidonews, here
are some guidelines, if you send it as an attached file; the preferred
method if you want reasonable control over how the published article
    will appear in the Fidonews:

    a) Plain text. If you could type it on your keyboard, it's probably
quite OK. TABs (ASCII 09) are not allowed -- there's no knowing
how long you've set your tab markings. No line may be longer
    than 70 characters.

    b) Put a title to the article. Put the title in two times. The first
time, on the first line, with an * before it. The second time, on
the second line, without the * and centered. This will help in the
format since the title with the * is removed and used in the index,
the second line will become the headline. On the third line, put
your name and FidoNet address, present or former. If former, you
may want to add some other address where you can be reached for
    personal comments.

    c) Deadline for article submission is Sunday, 22:00 UTC.

In case a) and b) above is not crystal clear, here's an excellent
summary by Ward Dossche, a major article contributor:

    Piece of cake:

    1) Ascii text
    2) Line length of 70
    3) Put this at the very top:

    *The title of your text
    The title of your text
    Your Name - Your Nodenumber

The title is there twice, the line with the * is how it will be
visible in the table of content.

Help the Editor by following the above guides. Below are some subjects
and the file extension for the article as set in the configuration
file for the making of the Fidonews. Please help by putting the file
extension of the correct subject on the file name if known.

    Ideas for Subject areas:

Subject File | Subject File ----------------------------------|----------------------------------
From the *C's *.css | Rebuttals to articles *.reb
Fidonet Regional News *.reg | Fidonet Net News *.net
Retractions *.rtx | General Fidonet Articles *.art
Guest Editorial *.gue | Fidonet Current Events *.cur
Fidonet Interviews *.inv | Fidonet Software Reviews *.rev
Fidonet Web Page Reviews *.web | Fidonet Notices *.not
Getting Fidonet Technical *.ftc | Question Of The Week *.que
Humor in a Fido Vein *.hfv | Comix in ASCII *.cmx
Fidonet's Int. Kitchen *.rec | Poet's Corner *.poe
Clean Humor & Jokes *.jok | Other Stuff *.oth
Fidonet Classified Ads *.ads | Corrections *.cor
Best of Fidonet *.bof | Letters to the Editor *.let

If you don't know or are not sure, send the article anyway. Put a .TXT
on it and I'll try to figure out where it should be in the Fidonews.

If you follow these simple guidelines, there should be little problem
in getting your article published. If your submission is too far out
of specs for the Fidonews, it will be returned to you and/or a message
sent informing you of the problem. This DOES NOT mean that your
article is not accepted. It means that there is something in it that I
can not fix and I need your help on it.

Send articles via e-mail or netmail, file attach or message to:

    Björn Felten
    Fidonet 2:2/2 or 2:203/0
    E-Mail b @ felten dot se
    Skype file bfelten

IMPORTANT! If you send the article via e-mail, make sure you put the
word "fidonews" somewhere in the subject line! That way it
will always pass the spam filter, ending up in the proper
    folder.

Please include a message, telling me that you have sent an article.
That way I will know to look for it.

Fidonet was bigger at a time than the internet and was even compared to it. We had an extensive school spin-off whose history is recorded nowhere ... connected computers at school? It was Fidonet ...

I learned a load of massive cool stuff behind the keyboard of my PC ... made friends, lost friends, wrote obituaries for people whom I never met but made an impact on my life ...

A true social network (although the bit-crunchers will deny it), not just something where people will lurk from behind the anonimity of a keyboard ... with a few exceptions... It's not about 15 second dance-move videos.

    \%/@rd

BTW, Z4 badly needs to work on its zone-status ... the nodelist-segment is way overdue ... ZC-activity and presence is way overdue. The RCs need to act and the nodes need to push the RCs to do so...

There's a job to be done, and when that job gets done, Fidonet stays alive !

All politics is local, as a very wise (and tipsy) Irishman once said.
I tend to agree with his POV. Especially when I've had a few too many.

Earth Day has been a global event since 1970 - always observed on
April 22. Now celebrated in 193 countries around the world (including
    your beloved Argentina).

The 1992 United Nations Earth Summit was held in Rio de Janeiro.
The Paris Agreement was signed on Earth Day 2016, with 175 nations
    signing.

The entire world is interested in what is happening in regards to
climate change, and learning more about what can be done to help
solve the problems that exist. For those in the USA, Argentina, and
    beyond.

    Later, and good luck!

Problems are not solved by luck, whether good or bad.

Now if only I can find my coffee mug ...

I will now make one of my famous statements ...

20-25 years ago I ran projects for the UN in preparation for the Rio+10 conference in Johannesburg, the 10 year review of the 1992 UNCED United Nations Conference on Environment and Development from Rio.

Here we had been flown to a super-luxury resort in Vail Colorado, money obviously is no problem for the UN, with several heads of government at prime-minister or even president level. The meeting was chaired by sir Crispin Tickell (Google him if you want) ... I think the most intelligent person I have met in my life ... He sat down and when he opened his mouth you knew you had to shut up because something was about to happen.

Sir Crispin asked some 20 people there what were the most pressing environment problems of our times. And as expected, all these career politicians launched into speeches about whatever, even getting close to the dress-code of Brigitte Bardot (mind you, this was 25 years ago).

When it was my turn, I said "I have list of 5" and everybody figured I was going to embark upon a list of stuff propagated by silly Greens ...

    Poverty
    Hunger
    Human Rights
    War
    Overpopulation

And I told the gentlemen around as long as these 5 points (and probably others) were not addressed we would not be able to deal with Climate Change, Drinking Water, Refugees, Desertification ... Considering that more than 80% of the world's population suffers from one, several or all of the 5 mentioned points it is hard to believe that direct input into Climate Change solving measures will not be swamped by all the rest...

The words of those career politicians sounded so hollow ...

Eventually I went dining with Sir Crispin and we went hiking. He passed in 2022 ...

    Hello Michiel,

    Poverty

    Human Rights

    Overpopulation

MvdV> I think you got that in the wrong order.

People have to eat. Nothing else really matters when it comes
to survival. Especially when that survival is your own.

MvdV> IMNSHO "Overpopulation" should be at the top as most (but not all) of the
MvdV> other problem would be reduced or disappear if there were not far too many
MvdV> of us on this planet.

Now you are just being silly.

There is no such thing as "overpopulation" of this planet.
We have plenty of room for billions more of us.
Far too many to even count.
Just do the math, and figure it out for yourself.
The total world population is 8 billion souls.
Scattered about on all continents, as well as islands.
If you think that is a lot of people, think again.

The total population of Macau is 713,082 people.
That is 56,136 people per square mile. Plenty of room
for everybody to get around and do whatever they want
    to do.

Monaco is similar, both in terms of population and of area.

The Netherlands is a bit larger than Macau, but not by
a whole lot. And (aside from Geert Wilders) nobody else
seems to be complaining about the lack of space.

You can fit the entire world population (8 billion people)
inside of the state of Texas and have plenty of room to spare.

That is say, less than 30,000 people per square mile.
Inside of one state (Texas) in the USA.

Your concerns about overpopulation are unfounded and without merit.
They simply do not pass the sniff test. And yet, folks continue to
believe in the myth created by Malthus.

And then there is the fertility rate.
France has the highest fertility rate, at 1.9, in Europe.
That is below the fertility rate needed to sustain a population.
The Netherlands has an even more dismal rate.

Some countries, such as Japan and South Korea, cannot last
much longer as the number of old folks continues to rise and
the number of women of childbearing age continues to decline.

A fertility rate of 1.25 is not healthy for any country.
With no more women of childbearing age being available, you
    know what that means.

Every country in Europe is declining in population.
The only thing that is saving the USA is the number
of immigrants (both documented and undocumented).

The USA was able to rescue Europe in the dark days of WWII.
Men were willing to do their part, and women also willing to
do theirs. Today, not so much.

A fertility rate of 2.1 children per woman is what is needed
to sustain a population. Women in both the USA and in Europe are
not up to the task. And it is worse in other places.

Japan and South Korea, as well as Taiwan, and other places,
will cease to exist as their populations continue to dwindle.
Along with bigger countries, such as China and Russia.

The real question we should be asking ourselves is not
overpopuation, but rather what are we doing in order to
    save our own species?

Procreation of the species should be our #1 goal at all times
and in every country of the world.

Otherwise, we will cease to exist.

Talk about survival of the fittest.

    Hello Everybody,

Lots of folks have misconceptions about a subject that has been
talked about for decades, if not centuries. And we all know what
that subject is, as it remains a subject even in today's modern
world. What fools we are, and always have been. The facts, such
as they are, are totally opposite what we have been told.

Overpopulation. We have been told by virtually everyone around
us that there are too many people in this world. And that this is
the problem that is the rood of all evil.

Of course, we should have understood this lie for what it was
from the get-go, as the first thing God told us was for us all
to "be fruitful and multiply." That was his first, and only,
commandment. Back in the beginning, when s/he created us.

He gave us no other rules to play by. Absolutely none. He told
us all to go out there and have fun. No other rules whatsoever.

So what did we do? The opposite of what God told us.

And now we cannot make enough of us to keep ourselves going.

    Poverty
    Hunger
    Human Rights
    War
    Overpopulation

MvdV> I think you got that in the wrong order.

It is not the order that is wrong. But the way of thinking.

MvdV> IMNSHO "Overpopulation" should be at the top as most (but not all) of the
MvdV> other problem would be reduced or disappear if there were not far too many
MvdV> of us on this planet.

The real problem is not "Overpupulation" but rather "Underpopulation".
As noted by God herself. "Be fruitful and multiply" should have been
clear to all, with no explanation needed or necessary.

But some folks are dense. Truly dense.

There are 8 billion souls on the planet today.
Do you realize how may people that is?
It is a puny number, given the size of our planet.

Macao has a population density of 21,674 people per square mile.
Monaco has a population density of 18,079 people per square mile.

Australia has a population density of 3 people per square mile.
And the Falkland Islands at 0,3 people per square mile.

So as you can see, there is plenty of room for us all to "be
fruitfall and multiply" as per God's original purpose.

In fact, we can fit all 8 billion of us inside of one country
thus leaving the rest of the world free to grow stuff for our
own needs and wants. And what country would be best suited for
that purpose? It should be obvious to us all -

    UKRAINE

This is the breadbasket of Europe, having plenty enough land
to grow whateever crops people want, whenever they want, and as
much of whatever they want to grow.

So why not make UKRAINE the breadbasket of the world?

    Makes perfect sense to me.

    Eat, drink, and be merry.
That is what God told us to do.
It is all in the Good Book.
    "Be fruitful and multiply."

    Procreation of the species.
That is what it is all about.

One can fit the entire population of the world
inside the country of UKRAINE and have plenty of
    room to spare.

For 8 billion people. Inside UKRAINE.

A number that can easily be doubled.
    Or even tripled.

    Plenty enough room for everyone.
    Including Russians.

    MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR.
That is God's original (and only) commandment.
    Why don't we keep it?

Michiel clearly stated "Overpopulation" as being the #1 problem.

Probably "Religion" also ranks in that category with overpopulation.

John Lennon could only imagine people like you.
Thank God he had Yoko. With or without clothes on.

    Imagine there's no heaven
Or there's a hell below us
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today
    Oh, Yoko
    You don't know I'm a dreamer ...

John Lennon once said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
    And he was right.
But how many folks wanted to admit it?

When he and Yoko moved to NYC, Lennon had no intention of ever
returning to England. Why? Because the place was racist. Much too
racist. For both himself and his true love.

And then a young man walked up to him and Yoko, asking for an
autograph. John gladly gave him his fondest wish, and then his
assailant shot him dead. Right in front of Yoko.

    December 8, 1980.

Yoko has saved his blood-stained glasses. Never wiping off the blood.
Clear plastic frames, not the round wire ones he liked to wear.
The red gave them a touch of color.

Ronald Reagan had planned to deport John Lennon back to England.
Too bad his presidential inauguration came too late.

So many songs had yet to be sung.

    Imagine all the people ...
    Living for today ...
    OH YEAH! I AM DREAMING!

    Hello Ward,

    Poverty
    Hunger
    Human Rights
    War
    Overpopulation

I think you got that in the wrong order. IMNSHO "Overpopulation" should
be at the top as most (but not all) of the other problem would be reduced
or disappear if there were not far too many of us on this planet.

There was no specific order here, but I think you are right ...

The entire population of the world (8 billion people) can easily
fit inside the country of AFGHANISTAN (with plenty of room to spare).

So please, give me a number - a real number - as to how many people
you think this planet can support.

I am sure you will come up with a figure that makes sense.
The fantasy that this world is running out of space should
have been put out to pasture long ago.

What number of people should be allowed to populate this planet?

It's an easy question. Let's see you give an honest answer.

Probably "Religion" also ranks in that category with overpopulation.

"Science" (such as eugenics) ranks much higher, with overpopulation
    a nonissue.

    Hello Michiel,

    Poverty
    Hunger
    Human Rights
    War
    Overpopulation

MvdV> I think you got that in the wrong order.

It all began with Adam and Eve. In the beginning, our Creator gave
us one rule, and one rule only - BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY.

That worked great, until a talking snake showed up in the garden.

MvdV> IMNSHO "Overpopulation" should be at the top as most (but not all) of the
MvdV> other problem would be reduced or disappear if there were not far too many
MvdV> of us on this planet.

Our Creator placed no limit on the number of offspring we should have.
The rule was simple, and easily understood by Male and Female alike.

And they got at it. Right away. And never stopped producing. Until
that talking snake showed up and confused the living bejeezus out of
    her by eating forbidden fruit.

And that is when all the trouble began.

Like all women, Eve had to share. And then, after both had eaten of
the forbidden fruit, their eyes were opened. Eve stomped on the snake
with her heel, and Adam wisely stood back and watched her so he would
not get bit. And then the two of them left the garden, never to return.

The first thing they did outside the garden was to have kids. After
all, that is what their Creator had told them to do. Abel came first,
and then they welcomed Cain. Lovely kides. Always played outside, and
never messed up the furniture inside their home.

Abel liked to grow things, especially flowers and plants and stuff.
Cain preferred riding animals, such as horses and cows. One day, the
two of them decided to show their Creator how grafeful they were for
allowing them to have such wonderful parents.

Abel made a beautuful bouquet which was really a sight to behold.
And Cain had butchered his best steer, preparing steaks to munch on.

The Creator showed up, and thanked Cain for his wonderful gift.
And then he asked about the other gift, prepared by Abel.

Well, seems that Abel had run away and was nowhere to be found.

Cain looked up at the Creator, and tried to explain -

"I am not my brother's keeper!"

What happened next is beyond belief, but really happened -

The Creator got mad. Really mad that Abel had run away. So the
Creator did what any other Creator would have done. He marked Cain
and sent him away. Far away. So far away as to never be found again.

This left Adam and Eve devastated. Having one son run away from home
was bad enough, but losing the other one as well was just too much.

So what did they do? What any loving parents would have done.
Another roll in the hay, which brought them Seth.

So, you see how that works.
    It is a cycle.
    A never-ending cycle.

The first human family was given one rule.
Any more than that would have been far too much
to understand. It all starts with making love,
not war. But we all have yet to learn that one
    simple rule.

    Lee
