Not that I've seen.. Those files didn't come from the FileGate.. they're not on
my system at all. I checked with upper and lower case. Those file areas (g_linux.misc, etc.) aren't on the filegate either...who is your source for that stuff? :(

    Take care,
    Janis

    #/bin/sh
    clamscan -r --log=/tmp/clamscan.log /path/to/filegate

From the old Gamesnet for years back and from Germany and the same person who runs as IC for VirNet (so you then know it comes from Benny).
I got the files from Germany but not directly by several way there is from a now old Danish node who stopped in fidonet same time i had done it for over 5 years ago in 2 years.
    Germany-->FinnLand-->Denmark->>me :)
The Danish node that time was too a Gamesnet node and got all the gamesnet stuff from Finnland as it was sheaper by POTS that way.

    Take care,
    Gert

    Hi Benny,

janis its not important you dont have the files, the point is, do you have

Yes, it is. I know it didn't come from here then. The FileGate can't be responsible for files you get elsewhere :)

virus in filegate.net yes or no :)

No, I told you that already :)

    #/bin/sh
    clamscan -r --log=/tmp/clamscan.log /path/to/filegate

On this version, you also need --recursive=yes. -r doesn't work by itself.

We remove very questionable files all through the FileGate if they ever show up... We had some files an author wanted removed from Gamesnet a long time ago, but it wasn't for Virus or Trojan, etc. It was because the author didn't give permission for their release. :) You may see false positives on very old files too... Did you find any in your files from the filegate, or no?

All FileGate FDN coordinators are asked to check their files before release.

    Take care,
    Janis

    as nasa says, checking

    clamscan -r --log=/tmp/clamscan.log /path/to/filegate

okay, but -r works on my gentoo :)

    it happends

shame on both not going opensources in the first place

You may see false positives on very old files too... Did you find any
in your files from the filegate, or no?

nope i get no or very little virus from filegate.net :)

All FileGate FDN coordinators are asked to check their files before release.

just a reminder that some did not in old days and we can check for this now :=)
