I've run into a problem with some of the incoming FIDONet
style mail packets. I looked in a directory this morning,
and there were several files with the suffix of ".bad",
but the prefixes had numeric values, sort of like outgoing
    packets.

I checked the AREAS.BBS file, placing the internal SBBS
code (from SCFG) in the first column, then after a TAB,
the area tag from the group, then after another TAB, the
FIDONet Network address that I'm getting it from.

I suspect these are from 2 networks I recently joined,
WWIVNet and SportNet, but I'm not sure.

I am using version 3 of both SBBSECHO and ECHOCFG, and
have set up the routings in ECHOCFG as they should be.

Any idea what might be going on?? All the other FIDONet
and QWK Networking packets are working just fine.

It can't be from Sportnet. You do have a node number but you have yet to connect to any areas here using AREAFIX. My system is not sending you any
    KT's

I saw it tried to connect to 24:24/1 this morning, but got no
response. Do I need a different BinkP port than 24554 (i.e. 24555) instead??

no... switching ports won't make any difference... not if other systems can connect to you inbound on port 24554...

I have nothing in my logs stating he even connected here so I am sure he's not usnig the correct INA address.
