Hey Folks,
I've been travelling for work the last week, which gave me the opportunity to clean up some things that I had on my todo list. (Since there was nothing on tele...)
Clrghouz now supports multiple packet formats (2.0,2e,2+ and 2.2) and can both receive and send you packets in those formats. So if you have an old stone age tosser you should now be able to hook it up to fsx :)
If you are using Synchronet, I'd recommend using 2.2 (its a 5D packet format, and clrghouz is a 5D mailer), however, you'll need to be running a recent build (after 26th June), as Rob fixed an issue in Synchronet's 2.2 packet creation in commit e76fafa.
I'm not sure what Mystic uses, but Im guessing it only uses 2+ or 2e (?), which are pretty much the default I think - they still work too...
I've also be reworking the comms stack and the logging (its currently quite messy), which hopefully should make it easier to identify issues as they crop up. More work to do there though...
I also added the work to support API calls to clrghouz - the first step to enable getting your mail via a wget/curl call, as well as being able to redownload mail packets, or get mail packets in different version formats. I'll also be using these to enable clrghouz to clrghouz mail transfers eventually, probably with a more optimised packet format that I've thought about using.
I didnt mention last time, when I invited folks to try it out - clrghouz doesnt yet automatically poll (ie: CRASH) - I'll set that up soon, so if you are testing it, please poll regularly (daily, hourly or adhoc, I dont mind)...
