    Hi All,

I was trying to implement the srifreq file included with binkd today. It worked ok for regular filenames but aliases/magicnames wouldn't work, at least on Ubuntu 22.04.3.

I made a few modifications and both seem to be working now: http://nrbbs.net/srifreq

Disclaimer: I am not a programmer. This may not be the best/correct/most efficient way to do this, but it works.

I've never heard of or looked at srifreq so I don't know how it compares but Iuse mfreq-3.19 with binkd and it works well.

There is a bit of configuration but once you nail that down you won't have toworry about it.

I think it's on github if you want to look. If not I have a copy around hereI'msure.

    Ttyl :-),

Well done! I had the same problem, and actually also did that a couple of years ago. =)

Along with the array stuff, I added some more comments, logging and safeguards, as well as a short snippet which fetches an ifcico alias reqmap, which would be the file equivalent of the "hardcoded" alias list.

Speaking of this, I found a utility called mfreq on the net, however it is not a bash script:

    Best regards
