• Telent ports...

From Sparky@21:1/192 to All on Friday, February 19, 2021 16:58:08
Since I have been running my BBS I have noticed that there has been a slow
down of internet access to my other computers. This is most noticeable when using a web browser and is accessing DNS or downloading mail. I have checked the logs and I have since a LOT of banned ip's and was wondering if I should think about changing my telenet port for my board or will this slow down
after all the systems stop trying to get into my board.

Either change you inbound telnet port, run a firewall to block IPs or countries, or put a CAPTCHA type in your prelogin sequence somewhere,
which is what I did -- my WINServer asks you to answer a simple math
question before prompting you for your user/firstname and lastname.
It's worked out well so far, but I might make it to where you are just
told to type in a random number that a computer gives you. But, that
    may be too easy. :)

I am using Mystic's ban ip so all the ip's that don't log onto the board get banned. Thanks for the info.
