• Indexed Message Reader missing Netmail

From Frostbyte@21:3/148 to All on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 10:03:20
Hoping someone can help me with an issue that I'm seeing. My Indexed Message Reader no longer shows my fsxNet Netmail area. It was there originally, but
as of a couple of days ago, it stopped showing up. I can still access my Netmail through the normal message reader, I can send and receive just fine.
It simply doesn't show up in the Index Message Reader. I haven't done an exhaustive check, but everything else appears to be there. Any ideas?

Are you going from Main Menu, Message, Index or are you looking for new mail
or something else? Are you in default theme? Try mysticdos /* SysOp Menu
then cd /mystic/themes/default/text and dir msg*
should show about 12 files in A47 a few less in A46. There should be a msg_index.ans, msg_index.ini, msg_editor.ans and such there. mysticdos is
setup to work pretty much the same in Windows and Linux so / or \ doesn't matter as much there. ? gets the list of commands, ? command gets the help
on that command. ? CLS shows:
    Clears the screen
    as an example.

I'm using a customized default theme, but I never touched any of those files for the indexed message reader. However, thanks to your tip, I dug around in the .ini file and realized that the indexed reader only shows areas that you are subscribed to. I then went to "set scanned bases" only to realize that I accidentally disabled the Netmail area. I re-enabled Netmail and
everything works great now. Thanks for the assistance!

Hit Z from the Message Base prompt and make sure that it is still set to be included.. I have had echos suddenly change to no. If it shows as NO for scanning, just change it to YES.. :) Hope that helps...

Another thought... are you maybe not subscribed to your FSX Netmail Area? I think you type Ctrl-Z to get a list of commands; you can toggle between subbed and non-subbed bases, or to see ALL... if that is the case, you can use the indexed reader to turn the subscription on, or you can use "Z" to set scanned bases, too...
