I agree, but from what DM said Synch will convert IF your user # is
1, which I take it you are. My issue that I am having right now is
using SMBUTIL to post a message using those codes and even when I

i think what is being missed is that the conversion of the @-codes is
not done at posting time but at reading time when the message is
displayed to each user... what you are looking for is that the @-codes
are interpreted at posting time and the results of the interpretation
are posted instead of the actual @-codes... opposite sides of the same fence...
maybe you might have to write a conversion tool to convert the codes before posting as you are desiring?? basically a template interpreter
that generates the finalized text file that smbutil will post...

There is a difference whereas the SenderExt is not apppearing on the first post.
That is the root cause of the problem. I've committed a fix to
smbutil.c (rev 1.106), so if you can either update your source from CVS and rebuild or download tomorrow morning's snapshot/daily build, that smbutil.exe should include the fix.
