Note to candidates: The main task of the FTSC is to document current practise. Contrary to what the name suggests, the FTSC does not create standards out of the blue. Current Fidonet practise evolves and when
it has stabilized, it may become a standard through FTSC documentation. Also, the FTSC is not an enforcement body. Those who wish to join the
FTSC in order to "engineer Fidonet" may be in for a disappointment.

Funny, I found this on the ftsc.org wiki:

2.1. Message bundles
All nodes must be able to receive and process uncompressed FSC-0048 PKT type 2+ bundles.
Can we call this insanity?

Maybe the new members can revive some more useful old ideas:

As a matter of fact, Randy Bush's
copyright on the current revision of FTS-0001 (Rev. 16) only allows for distribution of unmodified copies at no charge.

have to be done by a total rewrite,
unless Randy grants permission to use the current version as a base.
Just for the record ... Randy Bush is the man who called Fidonet "a cat litterbox reeking like cat urine" prior to slamming the door real hard
on his exit from the nodelist some 25+ years ago. From my p,o,v, he thereby forfeited any claim he had to anything in the Fidonet realm.
And the FTSC once had an excellent ability for doing exactly that.

I made a serious attempt six years ago:

I was told to step down and stand by.

3.2 FTSC Standing Members
-------------------------
To be selected as a FTSC member, an individual must be a Fidonet
node, and should be actively involved in Fidonet. Examples include
having put out a Fidonet-related product or having updated a product
in the preceding two years, or having experience as a Coordinator,
Echomail Coordinator or mail or file Hub.
Why are Fidonet Points excluded from being selected?
